Difference between Egineering detail and direct transfer

If we use the direct transfer, then the transfer will take place and the PDM structure will be used to create the Structures in Manufacturing.

But if Detailed Transfer is used, it will not create structures immediately.

System will show the details of the Structure selected for the Transfer in the Graphical form as below in “Engineering Structure Transfer Graphic window as below.

As you can see , we still able to make changes (Add/ Remove/ Modify)  to the original PDM Structure and then once done, we can select the RMB Option “Confirm” and this will create the Structures in Manufacturing as per the details shown in “Engineering Structure Transfer Graphic”

This may be helpful in situations where engineering department submits the Engineering BOM and some intermediate authority reviews and do necessary Changes if needed and then finally creates the Manufacturing BOM based on the changed version.

If it is always the case that the Manufacturing BOM is to be created based on the Engineering BOM, then using the Direct Transfer is sufficient.
