The work time calendars in IFS are used for a range of different things such as SLA calculations, calculating lead times in manufacturing and supply chain, scheduling window calculations etc. Each calendar is setup with a schedule and a start and end date. Once a calendar has been setup, the details (basically generating a list of dates based on the schedule) needs to be generated via a background job and triggering the generation is a manual process. Once a calendar expires, you run into a whole raft of problems, having too long of a time horizon can also cause performance issues. I’ve created a configuration that aims to automatically extend the calendars before this happens. It will add two new fields on the calendar schedule line to allow you to define the calendar as auto-extending and allows you to define by how much to extend it each time. Attached is a document to describe this in more detail. This was done for Apps 9 but I’m fairly sure it’d work for Apps 10 as well.
Hello. Trying to measure supplier on time delivery performance. I am not certain which dates to use. I’m thinking “wanted delivery date” should stay constant as the date I want it and as updates are made from supplier I should revise “planned arrival date”. Correct? Then I could bump Wanted date against receipt date and get the delta between the 2. Is this correct?
I want to add a new column to the following window next to “Source Information” as “Description” where the description of the part number I add in “Source Information” column must display in the new column. The part number and description is available in Inventory part window.
Hi,I am looking for information about the hierarchy between ex. inventory part and supplier for purchase part, which is the top level in regards to data structure. For example, it is possible on the supplier for purchase part, to setup "min order qty", and on the inventory part a "min lot size", this is the same: the minimal that can be purchased?Since the inventory part cannot be blank, and it seems this number is used in the MRP, then when is the number from the supplier for purchase part used? The same for lead time, lead time can be se up on different levels, but which controls in the end the MRP.Looking for info exactly which fields are used in the MRP and which can override each other? Over receipt of PO lines can be controlled at 2 levels of the Purchase Part ‘Over Tolerance% filed at the Purchase Group or ‘Over Delivery’ section highlighted below. Either of those is enough in the setup or are the both needed, say, when I need to control over receipt of PO lines? Does one of them override the other? I am asking because I tried with both the setups to receive several PO lines, the behavior is not consistent. Any confirmation from an IFS Supply Chain expert will be nice.
Hello, We have an example as below and not sure the most appropriate solution.Site A usually manufactures an item. On occasion due to capacity it is purchased from site B Site B is different company / site in IFS Site A will send all materials for the job to Site BIdea 1The business is already familiar with using distribution orders. However, as the item is manufactured on site A most of the time, shop order requisitions are created. These can be converted to purchase requisitions, but not to a distribution order as far as I can tell? The only way to generate the distribution orders is to manually create or switch the part to ‘purchased’ as default? Idea 2A new concept to the business would be to use inter-site orders using the ‘send’ functionality. This would allow them to leave the part as manufactured and switch to purchase requisition, from which they can then send. We then get the PO/CO although we have to manage the sending when any changes occur. I’m unsure which is the most ap
Dear community,Can someone explain how can I peg a purchase requisition/order and shop order? My main problem is;When we don’t have enough raw material in our stock then how can we create a purchase order pegged with this shop order. My aim is;When I reserve materials in shop order but one of them is not enough in quantity then I create a purchase requisition and purchase order. I want to see the purchase order and shop order is related. So In the future when I check shop orders I want to realize that if I have to create a purchase order or not.
In this scenario, though there are on hand stock above the Order point and lead time is met, still Purchase requisitions are created in the system. There are reserved shop orders. Can anyone please explain the reason for creating the PR from Order proposal in this scenario. Any relation with Inventory part Planning?
Hi, A step of the putaway algoritm is to list all possible locations where a part could be stored. Could we see that list? So if I receive a part, I want to have a list of all possible locations where that part could be stared (so matching capacities, capabilities, enough free space, etc)
We like to register a number in the W/D/R field before the Transport Order is received, thus we don't need to go back into every single line in IPIS to assign the number to every part line. When a Transport Order is received at a warehouse every box is assigned a receipt number. The box may contain 1 or many IPIS lines, so a TO may be given several different receipt numbers. To enter these after the TO is received and closed is really not a sustainable option for our logistics operation. By making the update before the TO is received would be a much better option.
I need to create a smart URL link direct to IFS application (APP9) with filtered data.In my scenario, I created a custom event to send an email, which will monitor Purchase Order Delivery Reminders on regular basis. Email should be sent to buyers who are specified on the Purchase Order Delivery Reminders. Message should contain a link to the list of reminders for given buyer. See belowScreen shots.Email format is like belowAs you can see above example Buyer “FUKMA” get one reminder email. The problem was creating the URL link. I can’t pass the buyer id to URL because it’s an API call not a SQL column. Then 2nd option will be passing the All-purchase order Reminders Order No, Line and Release No to URL.Is it possible to do something like this? If it’s, could you Please tell me how to create the URL passing above mention variables.
As you know Refill Putaway creates Transport Tasks (TT). These TT lines always consider the units which does not have any reservation in the inventory. But we have a requirement now to Putaway already reserved parts from one location to another using TTs. (Moving Reserved Stock is allowed in the site)Ex: LOC-1 has 10 parts > 8 units have a CO reservation, 2 units are available. We want to move the entire 10 units (irrespective of the 8 reserved units) to LOC-2 using a TT which is created by the Putaway logic Note: 10 parts are inside an HU
Dear community,Situation: in the main warehouse we are working with HUs - plastic bins that contain smaller parts. These bins remain in that warehouse. Parts are picked out of the bin into a shipment area. Mostly this works fine, except when a bin contains the exact amount of parts on a pick line: in this case IFS assumes that the entire HU is picked and moves the bin onto the shipment location:2 CO line reservations, 1 for a complete stock record and 1 where only a part of the stock record is needed: 2. the pick list, notice that IFS picked up an ‘outernmost HU’ for the stock record that is picked entirely:3.The picked lines in the shipment inventory:In reality the HU 166 stayed in the main warehouse just like the other bin (136) is there any way to avoid IFS core logic from doing this? And if not, is there any way to unattach the stock record from this HU 166 in this stage? So far the only way I found is to attach the line to a shipment and then unattach on the shipment (and then rem
In our supply chain process, we would like to skip the requisitions. If we have a demand and we run MRP the MRP run should create a planned purchase order or planned shop order instead of a purchase/ shop order requisition. I have tried to change settings on the inventory part by changing the default supply type to order, but this has no result. Am I doing something wrong? And is it possible to skip the requisitions in the process?
Currently working with a client who uses customer consignment heavily - all of the items are serialised. The demand site to the customer does not hold stock, so the stock is being transferred to the demand site via an internal purchase transit order line from the supply site, to the demand site. If the customer then decides to return the consignment item we are handling this on an RMA from the customer back to the original demand site (consumption needs to be done before the RMA). This part works fine without issues. However, I am having issues returning the item from the demand site back to the supply site. I have tried to do this using a return on the inter-site PO and also via an RMA and neither work. When using the return on the PO the error states “Subsequent transactions on the serial part XXXX prevent the reversal of this receipt”. When using the RMA back to to the supply site I get the following error “It is not allowed to return in to inventory serial part XXXXX in status In I
Hi,Could someone let know what is ASC module (ASC shipment) in IFS ? As I see, it’s not in IFS core ? Is it an extension or a localization ? Could someone also share documentation or training materials related to ASC flow ? Thank you in advance !
What is the functionality of the Supplier tax - transaction level check box in Company/Tax control tab?Help text and the F1 documentation say,“ If this check box is selected and if the purchase part, purchase charge type or the no-part order line is taxable, it is required to enter tax on purchase transactions (e.g., purchase order part line, charge line, no-part order line). Also it is required to enter tax on supplier invoices (e.g., manual supplier invoices, preliminary supplier invoices, external supplier invoices)”.“Transaction level, validate the tax code on each transaction row.”Is it validated in the PO line level and in the supplier invoice? Does that mean the application does not allow to enter a PO line in a PO without a tax code in the line?
