Hi @TDCMANIRUL,

The first step would be to export the system parameters and ARP file (if in use) and then import these in to the preprod. This should cover most of the setup, if there is any other remaining setup that you need carried over that is not after these imports please advise us specifically of what needs to come over and we can advise the best way to do this.

Steps to export the system settings are:

System settings can be exported either via the Scheduling Workbench or via the installer.

In the PSO Workbench, go to any screen in the Administration workspace under the Organisation menu, and click on the ‘Administration’ button in the top right corner of the screen (visible if the user is an administrator) to open the ‘Import/Export’ options. Then click ‘Export Data’.

In the Silverlight Workbench, go to the ‘Import / Export’ screen in the Administration workspace, and click the ‘Export’ button.

See the installation guide for details of using the installer.

To obtain ARP:

ARP data can be exported either via the Scheduling Workbench or via the installer.

On the PSO Workbench, from any Planning workspace screen an ‘Administration’ button should be available in the top ribbon provided the user is an administrator. Click this to open the administration panel, and then click ‘Export’, ensuring that any rota data is included.

On the Silverlight Workbench, admin users can export data via the ‘Import / Export’ screen on the ‘Admin’ tab in the Planning workspace.

See the installation guide for details of using the installer.

Once you have the files go to the preprod and select inport instead of export at the relevant locations and select your exported files.

Kind regards,

Hi @TDCMANIRUL ,

As @Lee Pinchbeck  mentioned, importing ARP and System Parameters file covers the needs you stated. Adding some extra to that, if you need to copy the Scheduling data also, (such as activity data etc.) you will need to take the Load file from Input History folder or Archive Workspace (Data Capture View in Silverlight) and send it to the Input Folder of PREPROD.

Sajith

Thanks Sajith and Lee for your answer.

I am able to export the ARP files from prod but while trying to import them in preprod it keeps on going and never getting completed. Do I need to do anything else before importing?

Hi @TDCMANIRUL,

You should not need to do anything as PSO exports the ARP file in the same format it would expect to import it as.

Is there anything in the events that could indicate what issue is being hit here?

Hi @TDCSOREN , @TDCMANIRUL,

Just so you know, you can attach files, images or videos in these posts using the relevant buttons just above the text box used to enter a new comment. This is the preferred method if additional materials are required for an issue as it is then all the information is available in the same place for any future users to see if they get the same issue.

For this issue, were you able to check the events to identify any issues? The import can take some time to import depending on the size of the file you are trying to import. You may need to increase a timeout depending on what the events are showing.

Kind regards,

Lee Pinchbeck

Thanks Lee for highlighting.

Just wanted to make clear, that is not good practice to suggest to send files to external gmail accounts. So, I think generic questions and anwers can easily be shared in the community and discussed. For customer specific configurations, we may need to send via IFS mail.

Hi @TDCSOREN ,

If IFS required customer specific configuration we would be looking at an issue requiring a support case to be raised (which this may still be depending on what is being flagged up in events). At which point we would request the files be uploaded to that case instead.

Please note and check the users that are replying in these threads as well. You should see that any IFS employees and partners are flagged as such next to their names in brackets. This is an open forum so there is a mix of employees, partners, customers and also visitors.

Kind regards,

Lee Pinchbeck
