In REQUESTFLOW when viewing an existing Request, how is it possible to allow the user ‘Add’ a new Note, but not ‘Edit’ existing notes.  The Workflow editor only seems to allow you to enable or disable the whole Note section.  I have tried making the Note text object read only in the Metadata, but this has no effect. Anyone been able to achieve this?

Hi @MartinF,

I am not familiar with a way of doing this.

@Mike Mitchelmore @Simon Wiltshire Do either of you know a way around this?

Kind regards,

Dear @MartinF ,

You cant allow only to Insert using metadata because you can find only Readonly under roles. this is how you can normally give permission to users per table. If you use Smart Client, you can use BR to execute and stop the update.

For mobile, You can easily create a new screen with what you want it is a simple configuration to create a new screen to show Request_note and create a screen to insert data. ( not for Save - Save button appear only when you do update.)

I hope this will help

Thank you

Hi @MartinF ,

in the UI designer you need to select the fields which shouldn’t be changeble . Then go to the left into propoerties. Then change the value in the properties “Read Only” to EDIT.

Based on this, you can only create a new text , but you cannot change the text.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Sven
