One of our departments has permission to reach the Customer Order page. We want to hide price columns from that department. How can we hide those columns from the department who reach the Customer Order page?

 Thanks.

Unfortunately not possible to restrict it fully. You can hide it using the column chooser and apply that change to their base profiles, but nothing would stop them from un-hiding it, unless you also remove the permission to amend columns (on all screens).

We applied this method, we wonder any other way to make it better.

the other way to look at it is: what do you need that department to be able to see/edit?

If it’s quite specific then we might be able to recommend another screen or report that you could give them access to.

Also, if you’re using Apps 10, Aurena will give you some better capabilities to hide fields than EE does.

We are using 9. Our production is project-based. There is no serial production. Planning and R&D department may change the configurations of a part. Due to they have permission for Customer Order.

There is a presentation object called “GUI Settings - Page layout configurations” in module “IFS Base Functionality”.

According to the documentation that is: “Possibility to hide columns in table windows.”

Maybe it is worth while to test and revoke that from the users and see if that stops them from not only hiding but adding columns also?

We can disable Column Chooser and Reset Current View options but the problem is the user can not change anything on a list like changing width or order of the list. And it will affect all listing screens.

If they had some other starting page e.g. a customer order lobby, with the ability to jump from there into the edit configuration screen, would that work?

We have to ask what the departments want excatly.

Our customer is using IFS 10 EE client and raised same question. They’d like to hide the price column in order lines for some users by set up base profile. But the user could use Column Chooser to unhide the column and they don’t want to disable the Column Chooser option for users. Is there any solutions for this? Thank you!
