Hi Everyone,I have posted here as there appears to be nowhere to post relating to IFS admin / infrastructure.Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to auto-shutdown a Windows Server environment that runs IFS APPS10 in the event of an extended power outage? We were told to shut the system down in a very specific and manual way when I did the IFS admin training about 18 months ago:shut down TA and Reports virtual servers run shutdown script on MW virtual server then shut it down run shutdown script on DB server then shut it downThis is fine when you are doing a manual shutdown but what about when there is a power outage?I can get my UPS to send shutdown requests to the windows servers in our infrastructure, but this would just shut them down. Does anyone have a setup that allows them to run the required scripts in the required order then shut down the IFS servers? My specific environment is a Windows Hyper-V cluster (2016) running a mixture of WIndows Server 2016 and 2019 virtual
Can anyone kindly point me to where I will find the documentation for IFS Document Management for Apps 10? I am an end user (IT Manager) and quite new to IFS and am trying to get to grips with how our system is set up.I have found many pages/docs that are related to this but nothing which explains broadly how document management works and then drills down to all the details like document class management, user/group access, etc.We have a pretty basic setup from what I can see so just need something that will get me going. We have many users who need access to things like specification documents attached to inventory parts and they don’t currently have access. Many thanks,Matt
Hi all, Was wondering if any of you had done this? How can I trigger a roll call type report to run and print in IFS when the fire alarm is activated?Assuming that I can get an output from the fire alarm (e.g. sending an email or creating a file somewhere), what options do I have to use these outputs to achieve my aim? Many thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions on this Kind regardsMatt
Hi all,I am trying to get hold of the Oracle client / database compatibility matrix which I understand is available on the Oracle website. I am looking at upgrading Oracle from 12.2 to 19c and have various peripheral applications that interact with either IFS or Oracle and need to understand what, if anything, I must do to ensure that they function post-upgrade.I cannot currently get access to the required area of the Oracle website as IFS will not tell me my Oracle Support Identifier for the Oracle support I renewed in June and I need this in order to access the document. Any help with this would be very much appreciated. I could do with access to the doc asap as I need to plan the project and understand what’s involved before the new year. I have a ticket in about getting this resolved and have sent emails to various IFS staff but as we approach the Christmas break it is looking less and less likely it will be resolved before many people finish for the year.Kind regardsMatt
Hi all, I am in the process of transitioning a customers orders and invoices to EDI. I am trying to populate the customers ‘Customers Own Address ID” field. The customer has 10 sites and have provided their ‘location codes’ that we need to use in the EDI submissions when we invoice them. Their sites are simply numbered 1-10.Most of the sites allow me to add the appropriate site number in but a couple of them (1 and 5) give the following error when I try to save the record: This customers own address id already exists on another address for this customer or another customer I have checked through each site for the customer and none of the other sites have the Customers Own Address ID set to 1 or 5 (they all have their own numbers of course) so looking at the error, I am reading it as if ANY other customer has this field set to 1 or 5 then I cannot use these values. Surely this can’t be right? Is it really saying that the value in this field must be unique throughout all our customers de
