Hey all,We have successfully been using an external file template to import Manual Supplier Invoices (with authorized postings) for over a year. But for the first time we are needing to create an invoice that uses EUR instead of USD, and so obviously employs a currency conversion rate that is not 1.0000.I am able to make the invoice create with EUR as the currency, but I was still forcing a conversion rate of 1.0000. So, the invoice is created, but is obviously incorrect and has to be canceled and completely re-created.My next try was to leave currency rate null (blank in the text file), thinking IFS would go get the rate the same way it would when entering an invoice in IEE. This resulted in a file load error: Net Amount does not match Net Amount in Accounting Currency for Item No 1. I cannot get much detail on just what exactly IFS is trying to do or what is wrong. And I do not know what values to convert so that IFS thinks things balance, because it seems to do that automatically wh

I switched the NLS Length setting in SQL Developer preferences to CHAR, recompiled, and the API package works fine now! ORIGINAL POST...A strange error about a buffer being too small has happened again (happened a little over a year ago) in the INVENTORY_PART_IN_STOCK_API package.I am needing to recompile that package for debug, and as soon as I do (no code changes whatsoever, just a recompile), any call to that package results in the error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too smallORA-06512: at "BELL1APP.INVENTORY_PART_IN_STOCK_API", line 73 All parts of this API worked flawlessly up until now. While it deals with APPS9, we are seeing the issue in APPS10.The bottom line is that automated emailing of Payment Advice stopped working, out of the blue. It had been working since the start of the year for progressively more Suppliers each month as we entered email addresses and configured Suppliers to receive the payment advice emails.We are not using a Custom Event. We have been using native IFS functionality that runs through IFS Connect’s emailer.. One of our devs has figured out how to make things work with a Custom Event/Action, but we'd rather not have to add a configuration when native IFS functionality should do the job (and has been working for several months).Does anyone have advice on how to overcome the "Mail Address '
Hey all,We are using an external file template (a copy of STDSIN) to import posted and authorized manual supplier invoices into IFS. This has been working for over a year for freight bills.Now I am working on a second manual supplier invoice import where the payment reference (NCF_REFERENCE field of MAN_SUPP_INVOICE) and TEXT field of posting lines have spaces in them. Invoice creation into a “PostedAuth” state works fine, but all the spaces are being removed from the NCF_REFERENCE and TEXT fields.This happens whether I use text delimiters in my external file or not. Hey all,We are creating an operational report where one of the parameters is “Org Code” (field ORG_CODE from CompanyOrg LU). We would like the parameter to display existing Org Code values in the dropdown.We have examples of showing a list of values in the dropdown when an Enumerate method can be called from a Package API. For example, we get values in the list if we link the parameter to something like Pur_Order_Print_Option_API.Enumerate(). The dropdown then looks like this: So, we know it can be done. But we cannot find a enumeration method for Org Codes. As far as we can tell, the enumerated list is simply values with the “unit separator” character (CHR(31)) after each value. Hey all,I have had good success with using our external integration program (a C#/.NET application) by calling it from RMB Custom Menus where appropriate. It can run command-line modules as well as display UI-based functionality to enrich end-user’s client experience.Some integrations I am creating, however, would be better to call directly from a Shortcut or Navigator item (I am talking about IEE). Is there a way to call an External Program from a Navigator item or Shortcut the same way a Custom Menu can call an external program? Seems like it should be doable, but I am not seeing it.Alternately (or additionally), is there a way to call an External Program from a Lobby? We are starting to use Lobby lists to also act as navigation aids, so being able to summon the external program from there would also be of great use. Thanks,Joe Kaufman
Hey all,I just implemented a pseudo-Custom Menu system for Quick Report output over here: Now I would like to deploy the Output Channel I created to all users who want to take advantage of this new functionality. I cannot find anything in the help about how Output Channels are controlled with regard to deployment: permissions, profiles, etc.Is there some way to make an Output Channel be available for multiple users without having to configure it for each user individually? Hey all,Pretty sure this is not possible, but is there any way in APPS10 IEE to attach a Custom Menu to a RMB click in Quick Report output? We have a request to run an external program for a line of output in a specific Quick Report, but as far as I can tell, Quick Report output is transient and not linked to any LU. Hello,I am trying to develop canned routines to generate External Search URLs that will fire up IEE on a specific form and record. This will also be useful for firing up Lobbies with different criteria entered (when the lobby has user-entered page elements, including wildcards).Things work fine, and I am able to create URLs that work for both form and Lobby navigation. But when I execute the URL it displays it in a new Chrome tab (Chrome is my default browser). I don’t want this to happen. I want the URL to pass through to IFS without needing to go (visibly) through a browser. I have had limited success automating the “InternetExplorer.Application” COM object, and tried WebView2 (without success). I cannot discover a way to pass the raw HTTP request directly to the app server so it can seamlessly display in IEE.I’d like to get this working without generating dozens of browser tabs so that it can become a feasible way of navigating to IEE form our legacy applications. It may have something to do with me using int in the URL instead of main, but when I use main I get an authentication error. Hello,We have run into this issue in several scenarios: A Quick Report works fine, but if we try the “Export to Excel” option of running the report we get something like the following: One scenario where this happens is when using “WITH” in the query. That can be overcome by wrapping the WITH in a SELECT.Another scenario it happens with is when using parameters such as a date range, the kind that makes the calendar popup available.But the most recent issue was with a a query using a pipelined result from a custom package method call, for example: SELECT * FROM TABLE(BELL_CUSTOM_REPORT_API.GetCustomerInfo('B%')) This is a custom API with a method called GetCustomerInfo() that uses PIPELINED data to return a “table-izable” result. It works fine in SQL Developer and when running the Quick Report directly. But if I use “Export to Excel” from the Quick Report screen I get the error listed in Excel that you see above. Putting “&AO” in front of the package name does not help.Anyone know
Hello,We have been struggling with maintaining our IFS APP servers (Windows, APPS10). We have developed a list of procedures to gracefully shutdown all IFS services (using mws-svr.cmd), verify all Java processes are stopped, apply Windows updates, then reboot the server.After waiting for up to 30 minutes after reboot, none of the node manager services are running on the rebooted server. My memory may be failing me, but I am almost certain that the IFS MWS services used to start up automatically after reboot, and the Windows Services related to IFS MWS (which we have been told never to manipulate via the Windows Service console) do not start up even though they are configured to start “Automatically”.The basic question, then, is: Are the IFS MWS services supposed to start on their own after a reboot, or should we anticipate always needing to start them manually? Hello,I have an idea for creating a custom note on an LU and populating it with history log data.BUSINESS NEED: We want to log the changes of certain fields on Purchase Orders, and want that information to be assembled in a note that can be attached to the Purchase Order. We do not want to use the Purchase Order note for this, we want a special field (so will add it as a Custom Attribute of the PurchaseOrder LU). ELEGANT PATH: Use History Log to store changes to the Purchase Order for just the fields we want. Then add a Custom Event to the PurchaseOrder LU, “after” save, linked to a PL/SQL Action that grabs History Log data related to a recent time-frame, the current purchase order, and the current user. Append new History Log information to the custom note we added in Step 1. CHALLENGE: Timing and avoiding redundant data. Hello,I am wondering where I can find in-depth documentation on the .NET Access Provider (including the COM extensions).I am just starting to play around with this layer and am intrigued by it. We have been using ODBC (Oracle Instant Client) and Oracle MDAC access and they work fine, but I like the simplicity of the .NET Access Provider and built-in niceties such as error handling -- no need to install an ODBC client or MDAC components, just the Ifs.Fnd DLLs (which I embed in our C# application).I would also like to know how to do more with the COM extensions, as we still integrate with Visual Foxpro applications. Visual Foxpro can create COM objects, etc. and that might let us do more from there.I understand Access Providers are on the way out and that web-based programming and RESTful API calls are the way of the future. Hello,I am getting up to speed on Purchase Part Characteristics and like what I see. These will be handy when we’d rather not add a custom field. I wish more LUs had “Characteristics”… (Is it just Inventory Parts and Purchase Parts?)However, I am perplexed by the "Find Purchase Part by Characteristics Assistant". It works -- I can bring up various alpha and numeric search fields and end up with a filtered list of Purchase Parts, but...then what? What is the point of displaying a bunch of records in a grid? If I want to access that Purchase Part in its most useful state (the Purchase Part screen) I would have to write down the part number (or CTRL+C) then navigate to the Purchase Part screen and search for it again. The Assistant does not even offer a way to export the search results to Excel -- that would at least be semi-useful.Even more silly, the final listing of results lets you edit the records as if you can make persistent changes to the data, but there is no way to save the chan
Hey all,I am developing a custom routine (in C#/.NET) to generate Custom Logical Units (CLUs) and all the custom field attributes to go along with them. My goal is to be able to point to a DBF file (Foxpro data) and create a CLU that matches the structure of the DBF column for column. And it works!Except for one thing. Though I add the custom fields to the CLU in the order the columns are found in the DBF (from left to right, by ordinal position), when the CLU is published and the _CLT is created, the fields are in alphabetical order. It is not a big deal, but it would be nice to be able to compare the resulting CLT column by column to the original DBF and verify that data types and sizes look good. This is easier to do if columns are in the same ordinal position.Any way to control the order of the table columns? When I look at custom attributes we have added to existing LUs I see those fields are in alpha order as well, unless a field is added later on -- then it is attached to the en
Hello,I would like to be able to print one of the “main” IFS reports to PDF and be able to access the PDF -- from outside of IFS. For example, I would like to be able to print a Purchase Order and have access to the generated PDF, from a custom-build .NET program (C#).I turned on the debugger in IEE, and after the popup comes up to print, preview, or email the Purchase Order, there is no output in the debugger. So, I cannot tell what is being called to generate the PDF. But the Windows IEE client must be telling Oracle what to do in order for the PDF to be created, no?The bottom line is that I would like to use Oracle package method calls to generate and access the PDF representing a document such as this. I don’t want to re-create the whole purchase order report outside of IFS when the default P.O. is already a good start, and the PDF format is acceptable.How to I generate a PDF and access it from outside IFS via Oracle API calls? Hello,We are running IFS Apps 10, and are primarily using IEE on Windows clients so far.I am wondering if anyone has experience running IEE on a Windows Surface Pro tablet (or any Windows 10 tablet):What are minimum specs we should consider if we want to run IEE on a Windows 10 tablet? Does IEE perform acceptably on less-than-cutting-edge tablet hardware? Is Wi-Fi connectivity problematic (lost connections, etc.)? Are there any other “gotchas” to consider?We are considering Aurena for some use-cases and understand it is more tablet-agnostic since it is browser-driven, but we also want to understand viable options for running IEE when we would rather deliver that experience to users.
