Hyperlink in Document Revision

Customer (Apps10 EE) wants to create a document revision without a file and in a field on the document revision enter a link to an external location where the file will reside. I recall doing this before custom fields were readily available, but I cannot recall where in the document revision the link was entered. Anybody have experience with this without using a custom field?

Sequencing Multiple Operations in Visual Operations Planning

23.2.4In Visual Shop Order Operations Planning, I am trying to sequence operations with characteristics in a Work Center in the Machine Operations Scheduling Gantt.The documentation reads as:To sequence all operations for a resource or work center loaded in the Gantt chart, open the card for the resource or day and click Sequence. To sequence all operations for a resource or work center on one or several days, select the relevant day(s) for the resource and click Sequence. To sequence specific operations, select the relevant operations and click Sequence.For #2, how can a user select the days in the Gantt, where should a user click for this?For #3, when I select one operation in the Gantt the Sequence command is available, but when I select multiple operations the Sequence command is not available.

Incorrect Lot/Batch Displays in Tree of Multilevel Repair Shop Order

Apps10 UPD15I have an As-Built structure for a multi-level lot/batch tracked (non-serial) part PZ-000 lot/batch UDF-6, quantity of 1, that looks like this.I released a multi-level repair shop order for PZ-000, lot size = 1. I manually issued lot/batch UDF-6 to the order. The Multilevel Repair Structure, though, shows lot/batch UDF-12 in the tree. What could be the reason? Was this corrected in a later update?

Automatic Calculation of Operation Cost in Product Estimate

23.2.3I have copied the structure and cost from part A into product B in an Estimate.There is only one operation with a Mach Run Factor of 1.0 hours/unit and an operation cost of 130.00.I edit the Mach Run Factor to 1.5.The operation cost remains at 130.00.Q: Shouldn’t this cost automatically update to 195.00? I believe it did in Apps10.When I calculate the estimate item the operation cost remains at 130.00.Q: Shouldn’t the calculation update the operation cost to 195.00?With the operation cost not updating the Estimate cost is not correct.

Product Estimate Deliverable Sales Price Calculation in Customer Currency

Add Standard Fields in LOV and Find Dialog

23.2.3When editing the Person on a step in the Approval Process on a Change Request, there are two shortcomings.In the drop-down list, the only attribute to select by is the Person ID (first image below), which for some customers may not be obvious to whom this refers. Can the Name column be added here or would this need an Idea request? When using Find in this drop-down list, the only attribute to select by is the Person ID (second image below). Disassembly Cost Calculations for Parts Manufactured Internally

I have a buildable manufacturing structure/routing and a buildable disassembly structure/routing for one part number, MW-M-103.The manufacturing structure uses these component parts:The disassembly structure produces these disassembly component parts (each inventory part type is Disassembly Component):I have calculated the standard manufacturing costs for MW-M-103 in Cost Set 2 and copied to Cost Set 1 using the standard template M-110.Each Disassembly Component has cost template D-110, with Use Distribution Cost 'on', attached in all Cost Sets.When I performed the Disassembly Cost Calculation for MW-M-103 in Cost Set 2, no material costs from bucket 110 were distributed to the components, only operation costs. Should these material costs have been distributed to the Disassembly Components?From the documentation:The disassembly cost calculation is performed by Disassembly Cost Calculation. Before calculation of disassembly cost it is important that the cost for the disassembled product

Calculation of General Overhead in Disassembly Costing

In the documentation for About Disassembly Cost Calculation, in the second example it states:Gen OH = ((Mtrl1 Est Cost+ Mtrl2 Est Cost+ Mtrl2 Est Cost * Mtrl2 Del OH + Machine Cost+MOH1+ MOH2+ Mtrl1 Est Cost * Mtrl OH) * OH factor) / (1 - Scrap factor).To result with the values listed in the table for MK-DISASS1 and MK-DISASS2 of 351.94 and 234.63 you would need to use an OH Factor of 15% and 10%, respectively. These values, however, are not listed anywhere in the diagram.What should be used for the OH Factor, highlighted in the equation above?

Manual Operation Quantity not on Manufacturing Routings

The feature of allowing an operation quantity on a shop order to be less than the lot size of the shop order was introduced in Cloud 23R2. This is controlled on individual shop order operations by the new attribute Manual Operation Qty (Yes/No). This will be beneficial when a partial quantity needs to run through a one-off rework operation on the same manufacturing shop order.Manual Operation Qty can be set on Standard Operations, Routing Template Operations, and Routings of type Repair, Disassembly, Remanufacturing and Disposition.Why is this feature not available on Routings of type Manufacturing? A common use case is when testing is its own operation, but the full lot size will never need tested and reported as the completed quantity. The ability to set this in the Routing rather than manually on the manufacturing shop order would be an improvement.

Document Migration Best Practices

I am looking for recommendations on how best to manage the migration of documents (300gb+) from an Apps9 database to Cloud. Primary concern is the ‘what to avoid’ type scenarios and also how to monitor during the migration process that the process did not stop or error out and, if it did, what to do next.

Project-Connected Shop Order and Planned Costs

It has been some time since I worked with project-connected shop orders, and I am not seeing what I think was always standard behavior.Cloud 22.2.1I created a shop order manually for part M1. This shop order did not originate as miscellaneous demand on a project activity.This shop order has one component and this component is not standard planned.Part M1 has costs in cost set 1 and is Weighted Average / Cost per Lot/Batch.I connected the shop order to a released project activity and the Planned Cost Driver is Connected Objects.I do not see any costs in the Planned Cost column.What setup might I be missing?

Availability Check with Supply Code of Shop Order Not Changing Delivery Dates

23.1.4.Sales Part 123 with Supply Code = Shop Order.Inventory Part 123 shows Mfg Lead Time = 7 and Expected Lead Time = 7.Fixed and Variable Lead Times by Hour = 0.Zero on hand inventory.Distribution Calendar = 5 day M-F.Picking Lead Time = 2.Today is 10/17/23.Enter a customer order line with a Wanted Delivery Date = 10/18/23.Availability Check returns “The due date is earlier than today’s date. Earliest possible delivery date is 2023-10-31.”But, the dates on the customer order line do not change. Wanted Delivery/Target/Planned Delivery/Planned Ship dates remain 10/18/23.Is this standard behavior with Supply Code of Shop Order?

Complete Where Used vs. Products Per Component

I have a raw material (DUP-BATCHCOMP-1) used in multiple finished goods. The Complete Where Used is shown below.When I look at Products Per Component, though, the intermediate level parts DUP-4000-A and DUP-5000-A are listed. Why are these listed as the other three -A parts shown in the tree above are not listed?

Cannot Merge Shop Orders or Shop Order Requisitions for Serial Part

Apps8I have two shop order requisitions for a serialized part that uses Date Effectivity. I am unable to merge these requisitions into an existing shop order or into a new shop order as the context menu item Merge Into Shop Order(s) is grayed out.In the documentation there is nothing stated in the Prerequisites of any restriction due to serialization.Would this have been a bug, or was this not possible in Apps8?

Two Search Attributes Labelled as Site in Same Page

Cloud 22.2.4.In the Purchase Requisition Lines page and Customer Order Lines page, and possibly other pages, there are two search attributes labelled as ‘Site’. This is causing confusion as it is not clear which attribute to use for searching for records in a user’s site. Is this a bug?

How is the duration of a downtime clocking calculated? Is this determined by the calendar on the Work Center, the Manufacturing Calendar on the Site, or something else? Is the available/theoretical capacity of the Work Center Resource accounted for?

Apps10 Upd15From the documentation on Create MRB Case:If a serialized and/or lot/batch tracked part is submitted to the MRB case, a record will be saved in the part serial history and/or lot batch history indicating its submission to the MRB.I have a lot/batch tracked part in inventory. I created an MRB Case for this quantity in stock and completed the case, but I do not see an entry for this in its Lot Batch Master > History.Is the documentation not correct?

How to Load Orders and Schedule in APB using Finite Capacity on Manufactured Components

There have been multiple posts in which the logic behind the Sched Capacity on the Inventory Part has been presented and what happens when Finite vs. Always Finite is used.This post is questioning how a user is supposed to load data into the APB when manufactured components are either Finite or Always Finite. Customer has the following product structure:P/N 100 P/N 200 (QPA = 30) P/N 200 is always manufactured in lot sizes of 8 and each shop order takes 1 day (8 hours) to process its lone operation.5-day work week M-F, 8-hour days, 8 AM - 4 PM no breaks.There are (4) shop orders for component p/n 200, and each is scheduled to end on Day1, Day2, Day3, and Day4 respectively. These have been APB Scheduled and saved to the database.I have multiple shop orders for p/n 100 that consist of only one operation.When loading and scheduling only the shop orders for p/n 100 If P/N 200 is set to Always Finite, APB does not schedule the orders for p/n 100. It is in Unscheduled status in APB, with the
