Hi all,Apps10 UPD18We have had quite a few bugs with ongoing absences not working as expected.When a user has ongoing absence ticked and then returns to work. The clocking will end the ongoing absence as expected. Fine.However when a user returns to work and either forgets to clock in or works from home then even if the ongoing absence has been unticked by HR then it reticks the ongoing absence when the background job runs at 12.10am to forward the absence.The only way to prevent this from happening is to remove the absence interval in time card day as well as unticking the ongoing absence.Is this expected and normal behaviour?Would it not make sense for the absence interval for that day to also be removed when ongoing is unticked as its ending the absence for that day.Thanks
Hi all,We have a requirement to output xlsx files to pdf in doc man via macro when user views the doc.The doc loaded will remain xlsx.I’ve been told this isn't possible to do but was just wondering if anyone has done it?We already have a macro for docx to pdf which works fine.Many thanksDan
I was wondering if it was possible to have a visitor/ contractor login for IFS time clock in apps10.We have a touch screen for time clock and a card reader but was wondering if it was possible to have a new button for “visitor” that would then bring up a default generic employee where they would need to enter their name on the touch screen and bypass the card reader.As we have many different visitors and contractors a day it is not really feasible to make a generic card and change the names every day.This data forms part of the fire roll call so would be useful if all the info is in one place.Has anyone done this?Thanks
Hi all,IFSAPP 10 upd 14.We have a background routine that sends out customer statements on preview like many however there are some customers that the report pop up box does not open. It just runs the job and send the email.Typically this is “fixed” by changing the output media on customer record which then allows the preview. This is a tedious thing to do when you want to just preview it.I understand its automation in mind but i do not understand why some customers get the preview box and others don't even though both have an AR contact and an Email comm method?Is there a tick box for previewing on some customers?ThanksDan
Hi all,Apps 10 upd 11 /& upd14.There is a rmb on the customer screen to sleep.What is the point of this button? i cant find any help docs on it.All i can see it is doing is putting a session db lock on for 11 minutes which is most unhelpful.
Hi all,Apps 10.An employee returns from absence so his ongoing absence is ticked. He tries to clock in on time clock via card params but it returns. First thought it was a permissions issue so gave the employee & timeclock user IFSAPP access but the error still appears.Then tried a reboot of the timeclock machine and that did nothing.Then created a manual entry under IFSAPP to time card day which took a while but did work.This ended the ongoing absence correctly as it should stop the ongoing absence when a clock in is registered.Deleted the clock in and tried again on timeclock and it allows the clock in normally.So the error message is popping up because it is not allowing the ongoing absence to end however it doesnt appear to be a permissions issue?Note. This happens infrequently and there is no consistency i.e works fine most of the time and then one random employee gets this problem but it is very difficult to debug anything on timeclock? Thanks
Hi all,APPs 10 Upd 11.It use to be the case that running the ifshome backup prior to installing a new delivery would take around 40 mins to complete by running the create backup script as admin.However, now it is taking over an hour to complete for a 20gb backup. After it passes the hour mark, this message appears and no backup is created. SEVERE: Panic message: Watchdog kicked in, operation takes too long time! Aborting… So, increased the watchdog timeout limit to 2 hours and now the backup is created but it is incomplete as it hits the 2 hour mark and the same error message appears. I dont think a mws backup should take this long to run seeing as the db backup completes in far less time that this.So just wondering what would be considered a “reasonable time” and any suggestions to fix? Hi all,App10 upd11.Issue is that when creating a site for a company it allows the save on the site header but when going down to enter extended site info. On the line save it throws up this error for IPR = Inventory Planning and Replenishment. I have recreated the issue in the other 2 environments.The company was created from the source company but not under IFSAPP. Instead a user had created it. Thought this would be the issue so recreated the company under IFSAPP and yet the error still appears.Its not being caused by a customisation so i can only think the SOURCE COMPANY copy is not set up correctly or there is a misconfiguration. The source company does not use IPR anyway.Any ideas, would be appreciated.
Hi all,APPS 10 Upd11.Between the early morning hours we are having new instances of both the timeclock machines logging out or being sluggish and throwing out error messages.They work fine throughout the day time so between 12am - 6am they are “misbehaving”. We have a nightshift operation so its rather essential that timeclock works. This morning the timeclock logged out completely.It is not being caused by scheduled windows updates.Any thoughts or ideas to debug this? So far i’ve only got these two error messages to go by;
Hi all,Strange problem i have.I have a very long IAL that is calculating labour efficiency so hits time card, shop floor clockings, operation history and oper history.Runs fine when the IAL is set to live data only (apart from time card where i made a CLU to get that data before IFS HR gets in the way).Now when i switch over to copy all data. Which i need to do as it takes 30 mins to run. All the Hours clocked are 0’d off which comes from shop floor clockings.If i run the report from IFSAPP it shows correctly and in crystal the report shows correctly if im using the live data.So why when its copied data the number is 0’d off?I am thinking this is the HR module getting in the way but that should only happen with live data.Also i cant find anything wrong with the code plus it works.Permissions are fine for ifsinfo too. Im not sure what is different about storing the data when compared to the IAL view version.Bit odd. Otherwise i can keep it as live data and then schedule it but i dont wa
Hi all,Apps 10, upd 11.Bit of an odd use case but i was wondering if anyone knows how to hide a lobby element from a group of users but not the rest?Cant do it via profile to my knowledge.Have tried it via permission set by hiding the element ID presentation object but that does nothing. Seems to be once they have the lobby granted to them then it doesnt matter if they have the permission to view the element itself.Im trying to avoid duplicating lobbies for the sake of a few elements that need to be hidden from some users otherwise will end up with too many lobbies.Also don't wish to have X’s all over the screen so they need to disappear. Hi all,Apps10We have a master part record with a netweight measured in kg.We have a US site which requires measurements in lb’s.We need to keep the master part record in kg and not duplicate in different UOM’s So. Turned on the site defaults for imperial and changed the inventory part/ purchase part to qty calc rounding to 4.On every customer order you end up with this and i cannot see any way of resolving this yet other than changing the master part record to imperial.any ideas?
Hi all,Apps 10 upd 11.Have an issue whereby employees who have ongoing absences. In that the Date_to is not filled in and ongoing is ticked. Each day the ongoing absence is automatically ended even though the employee has not clocked back in and is still on leave. There are no other conflicts with other absences to end the ongoing one.There is a background job which auto forwards the date_to each day at 12.10pm which runs fine with no failures.The only error message received is “absence configuration error” in time card day.What should happen is that the date_to should update every day to the sysdate when ongoing is ticked.Its a bit of a strange problem and im not sure which of the many absence config params would solve this so any ideas would be appreciated.
Hi all,We are looking to find the “recommended solution” or best way to do this on apps10 as im sure someone would have come across this problem.The issue is linking shipment ID’s or Customer orders to Freight purchase orders so we can track PO spending on freight companies against what the customer gets charged etc etc.For example; 1 customer order is converted into a shipment and then a PO is later manually raised which contains the freight cost depending on the company being used but there is no link between the Freight purchase order and the original order/shipment. Shipments can contain multiple customer orders for the SAME customer.Freight Purchase orders can contain multiple lines for different customers & orders.Customer orders can contain multiple freight line charges depending on order size.One PO line can have multiple shipment ID’s but only be for the same customer. Hi all,IFSapps 10.Sales part screen. There is a field called “min sales qty” which when entered will put an advisory message on the customer order line if the qty is not met.The requirement is to prevent users from entering qty’s that are not multiples of the min sales qty.E.g min sales qty of 300 EACH.User not allowed to enter 301 but currently would be allowed with no message. I can think of two ways of doing this. One is having a custom event to block this from happening. Second is to set up new sales parts with a different UOM and price/ inventory conversion in place.Is there a better IFS way of doing this? Many thanks,

Hi, Im trying to give a non HR person access to training records without exposing the rest so went about creating an IAL for it with live data and then granted permission to the IAL against the users permission set. However when the user runs the quick report it only returns the data that the user has access to i.e under his position access.Previously i have done this and it has worked fine. The only thing i can think of at the moment is that because it it looking at live data and not copied/scheduled then IFS is still checking the position/data access of the user.The IAL is a union on these two views;ifsapp.pers_license_emp_profile_Ovifsapp.emp_training_history_ov Any ideas?
