We are in the process of an upgrade from V9 to Cloud with the noted versions. We also have a requirement to move from Vertex Q Series Version 5 which is the only compatible version with V9 to Vertex O Series version 9 which is required for Cloud. We are being told that there is no upgrade path from Q to O series either for the configuration or the data. The configuration we can live with and understand, but losing the data for all customer orders/invoices done prior to the upgrade has become a significant problem. We have a need to be able to reprint invoices for up to 10 years, but don’t retain hard copies of all of that data, only about the most recent 3 years is in the database. We are now faced with the need to print out 165,000 invoices in order to have a retained copy of the invoices after the upgrade since we won’t be able to reprint them after the upgrade is finished.I’m asking the community to see whether any other North America customers have 1) gone through this process?
I am just starting to explore Aurena in IFS Cloud 21R1, but can anyone who has been using Aurnea for a while explain how to create a similar query within Aurena? It is the type of query that we use all the time in IEE (V9) to provide search results without the need for a quick report when the additional columns from another view are not required on the search display. This particular search finds the customer payments posted in the last 7 days for a given company. INV_STATE = 'PaidPosted' AND COMPANY = '&COMPANY' AND INVOICE_ID in (SELECT coih.INVOICE_ID from INST1APP.CUST_ORDER_INVOICE_HIST coihINNER JOIN INST1APP.CUSTOMER_ORDER_INV_HEAD_UIV coiON coi.INVOICE_ID = coih.INVOICE_IDAND coi.COMPANY = coih.COMPANYINNER JOIN INST1APP.CUSTOMER_ORDER coON coi.creators_reference = co.order_nowhere coih.DATE_ENTERED > TRUNC(SYSDATE)-7 and coih.MESSAGE_TEXT = 'PaidPosted' and co.country_code IN ('CN')) My inclination is that this isn’t yet possible in Aurena, but it is a critical ele
We are bringing a new Chinese company online in IFS in a couple of weeks and have discovered that there are a dozen or so serial objects that were created in our UK company even though the machine was installed in China and is serviced by our China company. We need to move the serial objects from one company to the other, but the move serial object function is intersite within the same company. Copy serial object would be a fine alternative, but it isn’t allowed because it sees the object as a duplicate. We can’t create the equipment with new serial object IDs because the serial number on the system doesn’t physically change, it is just connected to the wrong functional object.I’ve tried:Move serial object Copy serial object Delete object from functional object (not allowed due to connected work orders) Create Component Repair Order in an attempt to return the system from one customer site and into inventory, then issue to the new customer but in a different company (this didn’t go
Seemingly simple migration job to insert pricelist lines into the SfPP Pricelist tab. Using the Insert Procedure, expecting new rows to be created, but no matter how the job details are arranged, keep getting an error that the SfPP record doesn’t exist when clearly the SfPP does and the pricelist row does not which is why I’m trying to insert it. Not sure if there is something simple I’m overlooking or there is a deeper issue. Migration JobMigration Job Insert Row Single Row file to test510,122888-2A,113.3,12984,1,2,USD ErrorInsert failed S f P PSupplier for Purchase Part No rules are set on the migration job, no custom fields on the table. What am I missing?
Does anyone have a planned schema for setting up Standard Names, Main Groups, and Part Classes as a best practice? Looking to integrate our PLM system for the first time into IFS (has been a separate application to this point), just curious if anyone can offer your methodology to give me some ideas as I go through the design for our next site. We are still on V9, and will go live on that version before going to Cloud next year, not sure yet whether that makes a difference, but don’t want to do something now that has to be undone later.
We have started an analysis and mapping process for the functions and features of IEE that change or are lost in Aurena. We are planning on starting the upgrade process later this year and have already opted to skip V10 altogether for reasons of support and near end of life. The problem we are seeing is that IFS Cloud with Aurena only is not fully featured enough at the start to replace our current business model within IFS. We are on V9 UD13 with only a couple of small MODs, but heavy customization use and our own built interfaces to other applications. I’m sharing our analysis document that is drawn from a couple of IFS presentations as well as some threads here on the IFS Community as the point where I’m drawing the information. I’m finding things are evolving with each release, so the document will of course change, but thought it might be useful for some just starting to dip their toes into this area. I didn’t want to highjack other threads on this subject so starting a new o
I’m wondering if anyone has a technical explanation of the factors that can affect the output speed when using an output channel from an overview screen? We (me or users) can see a wide variation in the output speed based on time of day, system load, user connection speed, user terminal load, etc. All of which typically make sense and are mostly correlative. However, very often I notice that the same output one time will run at hundreds or even dozens of rows per second, while at other times seem to progress at thousands of rows per second. Sometimes the output is steady and continues until done with no pauses, other times, the output seems to hold for pauses of minutes to dozens of minutes.I’m aware that creating Quick Reports to reduce the relative number of columns has a significant effect on reducing speed, but for all users, I should be able to give them some expectation of the threshold or limitation with number of rows that are too many.I’ve been doing tests with anywhere fr
