Unable to create IAL as NOT live data in IFS Cloud?

When trying to create an IAL that is not “Create IAL for live data only” it still creates the IAL as Live data only. IFS Cloud 22R2.9.Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas?I need to create some scheduled IALs for large views to use in queries, and using live data is far too slow.Example: Creating a new IAL with the option for live data only disabled: The IAL is created without any error but it is only for Live data and cannot be scheduled: And no option to Update Now or Schedule the refresh from the IAL details screen either: But I can see in the database that the table needed to store the data has been created in the IAL_OWNER schema:

Reporting pods need to be restarted regularly? Anyone else?

We have a situation where in both 22R1 and now 22R2, the reporting pods need to be restarted several times a month. Has anyone else encountered this or know what may be the cause?When it occurs:We see that print jobs go into Waiting status inside IFS. No errors are seen but depending on what/how they are printing, some users get a message that the print is taking time and will be completed as a background job. Checking the status of the pods, no errors or bad status is shown. Everything appears fine.Performing a stop and then a start on the ifsapp-reporting-<id> pod immediately starts processing the jobs again.The problem occurs mostly when we have heavier volumes (most of which are actually PDF) are being printed.Here is what we have tried so far to resolve, which doesn’t appear to have made any difference:Created a dedicated “In Sequence” report message queue and message queue (instead of “In Parallel” to try to avoid contention) for the jobs being sent to the NO_PRINTOUT p

Is deleting the IAM User the right approach when AD changes?

In IFS Cloud we use SSO and have a business unit that just changed their Active Directory information as part of a renaming. Once the AD domain name changed, users were no longer able to log in to IFS using the new domain name.Looking at the User Details screen in IFS we can see that although the Directory ID and email for the user were updated to the new AD values, the IAM User account associated to each user did not change. This value does not appear to be changeable.When we delete the IAM User and the user logs in again using their new domain details it then works, and a new correct IAM User account is automatically created and associated with the User. The new IAM User account is then included in the User Details screen.Is this the correct approach to align/fix IAM accounts for users after a domain name change in AD? Or is there something else that should be done instead (or in addition)? Thanks in advance,Nick

Tab missing after applying IFS update

We are currently using 22R1, but after applying the 22R2 update we lose the Job Rate Management tab from the Active Work Order screen. I’m not sure if this is something specific to JRM or if other people have encountered anything similar with other tabs when applying updates.If we try to work around the issue by manually adding the JRM tab to the screen using Page Designer, we can see that the 2 content items that need to be included in the tab (JobSpecificDetail singleton and JobSpecificDetail group) are no longer available/visible in the updated version to even add.Has anyone else encountered something similar with JRM or maybe even another component/tab in the past?The update deployment logs don’t have any issues regarding this area, and no callouts for concern there either in the pre-update validation.Many thanks in advance for any thoughts or input!Nick

Creating Contract Change Order from Sales Contract doesn't get Project ID

We are seeing a problem where creating Contract Change Orders from a Sales Order is not populating the Project ID on the CCO, which means that the Forecast option isn’t available automatically. The workaround is to go to every CCO after creation and manually set the Project ID in the details, which obviously can lead to choosing the wrong project.We generate a lot of CCOs so this workaround is painful for our admins… is there something we need to adjust or do differently?In out production environment 22R1.8 the value passes in automatically but in validating Update 22R2.9 (from 22R1.8) we are seeing this problem.Any ideas if this is intentional and maybe something needs to be adjusted at the Project or Sales Contract level? What date does depreciation begin on a fixed asset?

This is probably a simple question to answer, but when does depreciation start for a capex purchase? I always thought it tied to the date of actually receiving the item, or even putting it into service, but I heard from someone recently that it begins when the PO for the capex item is simply released… is that correct?Maybe this is configurable which could explain the different answers, and if so could someone point me to that?Many thanks,Nick

Can you prevent Database Authentication in Aurena login screen in IFS Cloud?

Is it possible to prevent database authentication with Aurena, leaving only the SSO option available to users, at least for external-facing IFS Cloud sites?This is with IFS Cloud.It seems like it should be feasible but I’ve not yet found any clear documentation on how to go about the process if it is.Thanks,Nick

Job Rate Management tab disappeared after 22R2 update

Unexpected Server Error in Aurena when adding Material Lines to a Shop Order

Has anyone seen or can anyone help us to solve this strange error?Apps10 UPD9.We use Boomi to add Material Lines to a Shop Order and issue that material through the use of projections.We have a scenario where we have successfully added 18 Materials (18 lines) of one material and issued them, but when trying to create the 19th Material line for this same material an unexpected server error occurs - it doesn’t even create the line so it can never issue it. All subsequent attempts to add material lines to the Shop Order also fails. The material in question is not a problem - there is enough qty in the correct location etc.After the issue occurs we are able to use IEE to add more Material lines to the Shop Order without problem. However if we then try to add a Material line in Aurena with Quantity 400 we get “Sorry there was an unexpected server error”.In the Boomi logs this error manifests as “Error message received from Http Server, Code 500: Internal Server Error”As a note, the 19th

Where are Permission Set descriptions stored?

I’m trying to query for permission set names and descriptions but I cannot find where the descriptions are stored. Can anyone point me to it? Debug isn’t any use. I have the names and what is granted to users but I cannot find where the descriptions are stored to output those…Thanks!Nick

Error with Crystal Reports with Windows 10?

We’ve recently been rolling out new PCs with Windows 10 and now the IFS-provided Crystal Report Runtime client generates an error when trying to export the resulting report. This happens for both Apps9 and Apps10.Users can run and view Crystal Report layouts in IFS with no problem, but when they use the icon to export the output it causes an error that looks indicates one or more missing files.Is this a known limitation or bug? Has anyone else seen this problem?

Prevent timeout during Application Server clone?

When restoring an Application Server clone to create a new environment using restore_clone -instance=<NewInstance> we often - but not always - run into a timeout that prevents the process from completing cleanly. Seems to happen around the 1 hour mark. We have removed all of the CPU and RAM load that we can possibly do on the server and the machine is nowhere near fully utilized (only around ~20% on both while the restore is in process) but the issue remains. Does anyone know if it is possible to extend the timeout threshold during the restore process to clone an AS cleanly? This is with Apps10 UPD5. IFS Application Server fails after RAC node reboot?

We’ve recently seen a couple of occasions where a reboot of one of our Oracle RAC nodes causes the IFS Application Server to fail after some period of time. Does anyone know why this is or how to prevent it? We have both Apps9 and Apps10 systems (2 different production environments) and both versions of Application Server fail in the same way but at different times, with Apps10 typically failing first.It seems like the Apps Servers run OK with minimal session failure at the time of RAC node reboot (which is good and is expected) but then some time later the Application Servers become unresponsive to users and nobody can connect. The fix is to restart the Applications Server instance and then it works fine again indefinitely.There is very minimal messaging in any of the Apps Server logs resulting from this so it doesn’t really show anything.In the past we’ve seen it take a couple of days to reach the point of Apps Server crash, but the last time it occurred it took about 8 hours to

Rework flag on Shop Order not working in Aurena?

When trying to use the Rework checkbox on a Shop Order in Apps10 UPD6, it works fine when the SO is in Started status but not when the SO is in Planned or Released status.It works fine in IEE when the SO is Planned or Released.Is this a known issue or bug, or just some peculiar design aspect that seems to makes no sense? Importing permission sets doesn't grant everything?

We are seeing an issue in Apps9 UPD17 when exporting and importing a large permission set to create a cloned permission set. It is a large but simple permission set with no hierarchy/structure.It exports fine and generates a file that is very large (14MB). However when it is imported it results in a new permission set with some things only partially granted or not granted at all that should be fully granted. The following message occurs when the import completes, always on the same ‘SYS.ALL_TABLES’:As a verification test, if I immediately export the new clone permission after import, the XML file that is created then is about 1.5MB smaller than the one that was imported to create it.Something is not importing cleanly, possibly based on the file size, possibly based on the error shown, maybe due to some kind of timeout? The import process takes about 6-7 minutes.Has anyone else encountered this?

Unable to install TouchApps server with new System ID?

We have on-premise IFS TouchApps running fine in production (Apps10 UPD5 TouchApps Server version) and need to install a new Test environment on the same server.When running IFSTouchAppsServerInstaller.exe to create the new TouchApps environment the installer values default to contain the existing production Touchapp server values. If we change the settings on the first screen to point to the test database instance for the deployment, and then use the ‘Test Connection’ option to make sure all is OK, this works fine.However the problem happens on the next screen where the System ID is also set to the Production value but cannot be changed (it is showing as a read only field). How can I remove or change this value, or where can I find/clear the old configuration that the installer executable uses to remember these old settings?Right now I am unable to install a new test environment on the server unless it is given the same System ID as the current production System ID, which is a real

Is Oracle 19c support for RAC certified?

Is Oracle 19c support for RAC officially certified now?Per the online documentation it still show that 19c RAC is not supported for either Apps9 or Apps10. Is this correct? It looks like the page is very out of date.We are currently running RAC on 12c for both Apps9 and Apps10 and are in the process of migrating to 19c for support reasons.Can someone either point me to an updated reference or copy/paste into here if it is something I cannot see as a customer?Thanks!Nick

User security issue with ScanIt app on barcode handhelds

We have run into a security issue when testing barcode scanning with our Zebra MC93 Android-based Scan Guns. These need to use the Scan It mobile app for Apps10. Wondering if anyone else has seen or resolved the same issue? We have configured the touch apps server to use AD Authentication as required for using the Android apps. The issue we have is multiple users use the scanner devices in the warehouses. This creates several problems:Each user when using one of the scanners for the first time needs to create an account in the Account Manager app. This requires the System ID and the full path to the touch apps server to be entered. Once these profiles are setup (after being directed to our One Login page and entering their AD account and password) the username and password seem to be stored in perpetuity – there is no option on the handheld ScanIt app for users to logout, and no requirement to ever login again. WADACO not failing over even though IFS does with Oracle RAC?

We’re seeing an issue when Oracle fails over or moved from one RAC node to another. IFS itself works as expected but Warehouse Data Collection (WADACO) does not. The result is that anyone attempting to use WADACO in either in the IFS IEE screens or in the ScanIT touch apps receives an error telling them that "no Warehouse Data Collection licenses are available" but this is not correct. Checking the WADACO licenses we see that we have many free each time this has happened.We can fix by restarting the IFS Apps Server services using mws-svr command but this causes a dull downtime for all IFS that we need to avoid.Has anyone got any insight into why WADACO isn’t failing over like IFS does?With the mechanism in place such that WADACO only consumes a license when a user accesses those screens inside IFS makes me think that the WADACO connections are made differently than IFS as a whole.

Apps10 environment totally locked up?

Has anyone else ever had Apps10 (UPD5 in our case) completely lock up and require stop and restart of the server services using mws-svr? In the most recent instance last week, after a successful STOP using mws-svr, the entire VM actually locked up during the START and required a ‘hard’ reboot from the VM console. No errors were seen in the logs at all; they just have no entries from after the time of the freeze showing a happy system doing normal processing until then. Unfortunately after the VM rebooted we had some file corruption and missing files that required a recovery from backup. I can’t tell for sure if the files were damaged or missing before the stop/start or if that happened from the forced VM reboot. So: Are we the only ones seeing anything like this? Has anyone else experienced issues with IFS Applications Server just stopping, or with files becoming corrupted or missing during normal operation? Thanks, Nick

Apps9 TimeTracker mobile app question

We’re looking to set up and use TouchApps in our Apps9 environment, and have managed to get several of them working OK using iOS devices. That said, I have a problem with the TimeTracker app where it errors when trying to sync during login. It just keeps looping with the green sync running followed by this error. I’m not sure if this is related to security - there is no permission set script that can be generated from the TAS server - or if this is something else. Can anyone provide any guidance or point me to some documentation I might be missing? Thanks, Nick

Apps9 TripTracker mobile app question

We’re looking to set up and use TouchApps in our Apps9 environment, and have managed to get several of them working OK using iOS devices. That said, I have a problem with the TimeTracker app where it errors when trying to sync during login. It just keeps looping with the green sync running followed by this error. I’m not sure if this is related to security - there is no permission set script that can be generated from the TAS server - or if this is something else. Can anyone provide any guidance or point me to some documentation I might be missing? Thanks, Nick
