HiI’m interested to have an understanding of the everyday life after the move to Cloud version and how you keep up with the IFS releases and upgrades. Many customers seems to go the “update once a year” route to get to the latest release. Much depends of course of the scope you are using the platform for and how are the borders of each customer’s ICT systems set and integrated with each other. Our IFS scope is pretty basic, mostly finance/ERP with purchasing and project related activities and HR master system, adn we have just moved from Apps9 to 10.I’m interested of you who have already moved from different Apps-versions to Cloud or even you who have moved directly from other system to IFS Cloud, and your views about the adaptation to the new everyday life. What has changed in areas of the amount of IFS/partner support needed, the amount of your own work needed to keep up with the releases and even the spend changes for doing all of this.I’m having doubts we can keep it running efficient
Hibackground:The management of user rights in Apps9-10 is rather fragmented. We have internal users with employment info, external persons administered in ad and some of them mirrored in IFS, dozens of our own permission sets on top of dozens of core ones, various authorization rights for invoices and purchases, there are document access configurations and parameters in system definitions, the GDPR data definitions etc. and all of these are maintained by few support people mostly from HR, ICT ad finance so that each takes care of certain area.I do understand that our current implementation could be done in several ways and there could be some simplifications achieved. Instead of fine tuning we however need to reach a whole new level of simplicity and automation to help speed up the entry/exit processes of employees and keep data and permissions more up-to-date without so much manual work as now. We need to be faster and provide constant high quality. This needs automation and automatio
Hi. Changes this big should not be hidden inside periodical maintenance notifications. This change in email usage has a great possibility to do massive harm in the capabilities for communication between the vendor and customer. In our case we have a light (and sufficient) email-integration in use between our own and IFS’ ticket portals. Now it’s unclear if this will work from now on. It is vital to have it working. Will get back to this after talking about it in more detail with our IFS consultant.
Just a heads up post for all to acknowledge that the Community Solution Area discussions, the topics, the individual posts, the personal details of members and message histories and many documents are all viewable in public internet without the need to log in. Logging in gives you the possibility to post and have access to some additional content. The ones seeking ways for cyber attacks, the competitors, the sellers all can have valuable content from here.Especially important to acknowledge this when sharing certain details about yourself and the companies you work with. They are open for all to see.My expectation would be that all the content would require a log in and the registration woul have a saparate verification to identify and prevent fake identities and accounts. Of course the openness has advantages too and several big players like Microsoft and Oracle have similar open communities too where yu can read without a registration or login. There is also strong analogy to web-for
Hi. Will there be and if yes when a new user interface published to the Life Cycle Support (LCS) Solution that would replace both the Customer Engagement Center (CEC) and Internet Support Center (ISC)?The ISC look and feel is from the early 00’s but it still works more logically that the CEC. CEC on the other hand seems to be unreachable less than the ISC. I use LSC at least weekly if not daily and would really hope for some modernisation step to be taken in the functionalities and layout. When CEC was published I sent a long list of faults and improvement needs and I believe the answer at some point was that there will be a new tool at some point. I am still waiting and someone on this community probably has more information about the matter. bts. the sub project selection list on this form has no good value for LCS, but I have to pick one anyway to be able to create this question
