Hi All,I am recently involved to setup some 21R1 configuration in various environments. When setting up I encountered various issues such as not knowing which projections to be granted in order to external clients to work, most of them are IAM clients. Which projections to be granted, information was passed by the Product Development teams which helped us. But is there a way to exactly know which projection should be granted so that the external clients would work. e.g. AdvancedPlanningBoard, MaintenancePlanningBoardIntegration I think in Aurena client we can search by Projections by Navigator so inside the client if something isn’t working, we probably can grant these projections to a specific permission set so the purpose is achieved.
Hi All, Question : It’s mentioned in the IFS documentation that there is a Oracle Job for gathering table statistics from Oracle 10g, and also an IFS job probably triggers this oracle job. It’s advised to use only one. Where can i find IFS related scheduled job which is responsible for gathering statistics? Answer : “In Oracle10g there is a predefined Oracle job for gathering statistics. The job is called GATHER_STATS_JOB and can be seen in the view Dba_Scheduler_Job. You shall either use the Oracle job or the IFS job for gathering statistics, not both. You turn off the Oracle job by using Dbms_Scheduler.Stop_Job('GATHER_STATS_JOB');” There is a form called Oracle Objects in IFS applications. This can be used to analyze a performance issue whether the statistics are old. Also you can select specific object and gather statistics if you are facing a problem in a certain DB object. Hope this helps.
Hi All, Do you use your part cost calculation method as ‘Weighted Average’ ? What are your reasoning behind that decision? Do you experience performance/locks when the transaction load is high?
Hi All,This is a headsup if you are using Warehouse Data collection on a oracle RAC, one of our customers last year had a strange problem of sessions locking each other and then its being ending up as a license issue, where customer stacking up multiple sessions from the same user and the count is going to the maximum number of user sessions. The issue started happening when a single oracle instance load was high and when it tried to serve a Warehouse Datacollection related request by the second instance. Wadaco client waits for a 60 seconds until it receives a response from the server and if it doesn’t receive, retry button will be enabled again which in terms creates another request. But the initial request is in a state which is unusable but it is locking the Data_Capture_Session_Line_Tab, after a tiring investigation we identified the issue was a time gap between the two RAC instances, and it was a whooping 1 hour. The acceptable amounts of differences are milliseconds i think. Onc
