Measuring Equipment Down time

We are looking for a good way to measure equipment down time. Currently we start the down time when the fault report is created. We then mark the up time as when the work order is closed. The issue we have with this is sometimes we can get the equipment running, so it is not down, but it is not completely fixed either. We are waiting for parts to arrive to complete the fix. We can’t close the work order if there are open PO items on it, so how can we capture that the machine is no longer down?

Auto-reserve non-inventory part

We have a non-inventory sales part on a customer order line. When we change the quantity on that line, the system is automatically showing it Reserved and Picked, ready for delivery. We don’t want it to do that. Is there a way to prevent the auto-reservation and picking of non-inventory parts?

Track Shipping Costs of sub-contract items

When we send parts to a subcontractor we use a freight company to ship these items.We create a PO with Supplier A to do the subcontract work.Supplier B (UPS, Old Dominion, etc) is paid for the shipping costs. How can I associate the shipping costs with the cost of making the part?

I am trying to create a MTD sales summary for a Lobby. We have two companies. One uses USD and the other uses Korean KRW. We have currency rates in the system for the conversion of USD to KRW. Is there an api to get the currently active exchange rate?

Customer Main Representative added to Customer Order

When we set up a customer, we assign a Main Representative to the customer. This representative had visibility only to his customers using the CRM functionality.When we receive an order from the customer, it is entered through our customer service group. The customer service person who enters the order is set as the Main Representative for this particular order.This means that the Main Representative for the customer has no visibility to the customer’s orders.Is there a way to automatically add the Main Representative on the customer record to any customer orders created for that customer, so they will be able to see the order?

Assign PM Actions

Is it possible to assign PM Actions to a specific technician, such that any work order generated from that PM will be assigned to him? Also, once the work order is created, can it be assigned to someone different?We have tried using the Planned By field, but once the work order is created it can’t be changed.

Unreserving non-inventory parts on customer orders

We ship/deliver both inventory and non-inventory parts on the same order. If we reserve a non-inventory part, is there a way to unreserve it? We seem to be able to unreserve the inventory part, but not the non-inventory parts.

Purchase Authorization Changes

We are looking at using Purchase Order Authorization Rules to require our Commodity Managers to review and approve changes made by Buyer to POs. I set the rule and the PO requires requires authorization before initial release and it requires a change order to raise the price on the PO. However, if I have a change order pending approval, the PO can be received and matched at the old price with no warning of any kind that there is a pending change order. Is there a way to stop the receipt or matching if a change order is pending?

I have a user trying to create a project, but he gets the error: You do not have privileges to use the “GI_Project_Series_API.Check_Project_In_Series operation for “GI Project Series”. I can’t find this anywhere in the permissions screen. Can anyone help on this?

Adding a Custom Field to Manual Reservations for Customer Order Line Details

I have a custom field that I have added to Inventory Part in Stock. I would also like to add this field to the details in the Manual Reservations for Customer Order Line, but when I try to add it, it shows that is is already there (the details look like the come from the Inventory Part in Stock view) but it doesn’t give me the option to add it through the column chooser. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Staged Payment Template

We have a supplier who requires 50% payment in advance and 50% at acceptance.I have created a Milestone/Stage Payment Template, but I can’t see it on the Purchase order Line. The Validity is Active. Is there something else I need to do to make the template available to attach to the PO?Thanks in advance.

Modify Pers Protected data

I am trying to add a new system administrator in our system. The person has been granted full system access, but when he tries to create a new Employee File, he is getting this error: Insufficient access rights. You cannot modify Pers Protected data for the person JOHN.DOE. What access do I need to grant, so he can do this?

Approval of Purchase Requisitions

Is there a way to prevent someone from approving their own requisitions? For example, if the person is in a group that allows them to authorize requisitions up to $5,000, can you set it up so they can approve as long as they are NOT the requisitioner?

Shop Order Variance booking changed between 7.5 and 10

Can anyone explain the changes in booking of shop order variances between 7.5 and 10?We recently upgraded from 7.5 to 10.Process:Close shop orderRoll CostsRe-open shop orderRe-close shop order In 7.5, the re-close of the shop order created exactly the same variances as the original close, so the net on material variance, labor variance and overhead variance and the diff accounts was zero.In 10, the reclose of the shop order is creating major changes in material, labor and overhead and offsetting it in the diff account. This is causing major issues for those trying to monitor these variances. Can anyone explain what the system is doing?

Reference Part on BOM

Is there a way to put a reference part on a manufacturing BOM? We would like to add a specification to our BOM. We don’t want to have to issue this part or put quantities in inventory, we just want it to be a reference number.

Won/Loss Sales Quotation/Business Opportunity/Estimate

Our workflow is to create a Business Opportunity for a customer request. From there we create an Estimate for Engineering to estimate the product. Then we create a Sales Quotation.When we go to track the won/lost on these, we have to mark the quote line won/lost, then go to the business opportunity and mark the line won/lost, then mark the business opportunity header won/lost, then mark the sales quotation header won/lost.At each step, we have to choose the competitor and the reason. Is there anyway to tie these all together so we don’t have to do this 4 times to close out one quote?

Default Buyer ID on Purchase Requisition

We are using IFS 10 UPD9. We have Buyer IDs set up for our suppliers. However, when a user creates a purchase requisition, for a no-part line and adds the supplier, the Buyer ID defaults to * regardless of what is set up on the supplier. Is there a way to make the requisition line pull the buyer from the supplier record?

Transfer from Sales Quotations to Business opportunity

I would like to make a Custom Menu item to allow the user to transfer from a line within the overview window Sales Quotations (tbwOrderQuotationOverview) to the associated Business Opportunity. The Business Opportunity Number is stored in the ORDER_QUOTATION view, but it is not displayed in tbwOrderQuotationOverview. When I try to create the Create Window with Transfer, it goes to the Business Opportunity window, but it is blank.Does anyone know how to make this work?
