Hi @SORSITEL and @Mark.Feldpausch Since we received more questions and feedback on Sticky Notes, we would really appreciate if you also could mention why you appreciate having Sticky (Yellow) Notes and how useful it is, and what exactly are the underlying “problems” that sticky notes solve, so that we could inform R&D on the business critical nature and how useful this feature is to customers :) Thanks & Best Regards, Yasas I think the main value, at least for us, is that they allow easy collaboration/communication of needed action on things like invoices, orders, activities and other areas with high levels of interface/cross-collaboration. They could do the same with Teams, Outlook, Slack, you name it, but nothing beats the simplicity of having it directly in IFS. I like to think of it as Attachments, but for text. You could put attachments on a windows file share, which is kind of like the same as using a separate program for communicating actions.
Sticky Notes are currently not in the plan. They do not feel like something that belongs in the current web-based UI, at least not in the form they had previously. Also, we were working from an assumption that Sticky Notes was something that was quite popular in demos, but not really used by customers. From the examples that I’ve heard here it sounds like some customers are using them instead of custom fields to save some additional information. Not that much for collaboration (which was the driving idea behind Sticky Notes). That’s true.They’re mostly used for clearly communicating (like “in your face”) what needs to be done/corrected (especially with expense sheets and invoices).What we care about is that there’s a relatively easy way for our users to do this, without having to use Outlook every time. But yes, I agree that they need to change to be better suited for the web UI.
We use sticky notes quite a bit. They’re stored in RTF format on the database. Converting rich text and images to HTML or plaintext is a nontrivial task. What we do, is we extract the raw text using a java class, it’s lightning fast, and gets us the content (which is what we care about at least, not the formatting).
We are also facing the same issue. Have you figured out which steps to take to data repair it?
Hi It is a good question worth asking, but i wonder if this is a no. Which version of IFS are you on? My answer below is based on IFSv9. IFS of course recommend that there is no activity on the system during the application of a release. For me this is the main problem, as if you run into issues, you will be exposed to the unknown and IFS support may be unable to assist, resulting in serious downtime during a restore. That aside, batch queues are supposed to be disabled (affecting all nodes), a backup of IFS home is required (I suspect the system needs to be fully shutdown for a clean backup). A release for a clustered environment requires the certificate being signed before creation of the cluster zip files, could this present an issue to those on the running nodes? Stand alone items such as Print agents, Crystal reports, Demand Planner all may be affected by a release…. An interesting query, which would be very useful if there was an IFS supported procedure. No, our users are very resistant to their profiles being wiped, even just a specific screen. I have used the only deleting a piece of a personal profile to resolve some other issues though. Thanks Everyone! Remove the column customizations from the base profile, or make the changes manually to the personal profiles in question. There’s a bug where if you change the column setup (order, visibility, etc.) in a base profile, then no matter what you do personally, it will be overridden by the values in the base profile the next time you launch that window. But! If you do this manually in the personal profile editor (the one with the cryptic values), then it will work.
@Himasha Kapugeekiyanage - Yes, she has access to the presentation object. That is the grants that I referenced above. I RMB on the quick report and go to Manage Grants and on the Presentation Object Grants screen, she has the permission set that was granted access as well as being on the Users tab. We’ve tried Revoking and Regranting and neither one solved the issue. I also deleted the quick report from her personal profile and that “Features” section of her personal profile has been deleted since this issue popped up. Have you tried to “Refresh Security Cache”? After performing this action, she would have to restart her IFS Enterprise Explorer client.

Thanks for sharing your error. This is something I fear after an unsuccessful patch or other issue. I have seen mentioned in ‘Guidelines to Deploy Delivery to IFS Applications 9 RTM’, that if you have to deal with a failed patch deployment, it states the following: ‘If installation is based on Windows, check the Oracle product inventory which is maintained in “C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\ContentsXML\inventory.xml”, checki if it contains an entry LOC=”<IFS-Home>/<instance>/mw_home/mws” and remove that entry from the inventory.xml file before recovering the installation from the backup.’ Not necessarily the same issue, but all good information. @SORSITEL Glad to hear the number of errors reduced on the HTTP log. Since the HTTP Server has the error ‘connection forcibly closed by remote host’, I suspect this could be due to an external device (just a thought). Is there any load balancer configured to balance the amount of traffic between the nodes? Could there be any other devices between client and server which might also be forcibly closing the underlying TCP connection? If so can you please check the timeout settings on the load balancer as well. (This suggests the default timeout on load balancer side is perhaps less?). Kindly check whether LB timeout is bit higher for WebSocket type connections? I don’t think we are running any load balancers, and we are not running with multiple nodes. The logs have stayed small (500KB), so I’m happy . Thanks a lot for the invaluable information!
@Charith E What I originally had for ThreadLimit and ThreadsPerChild was 5000, but then I did the calculations and figured out that since we are 1075 users, these parameters should be 1800. This seems to have stopped the errors from appearing, at least for now. The errors that sometimes arise now, is this: (OS 10054)An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. : ap_get_brigade() didn't read data (OS 10054)An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. : Error processing websocket connection Is this normal? (We only use the built-in IFS functionality, EE and Aurena. Thus the remaining 450 connections reserved for all other traffic I assume will be plenty, considering these are only used for normal HTTP requests, correct?)
@Charith E@Isuru Gunathunga Thus it should be: ThreadLimit should be 1200 * 1.5 = 1800 (1075 licenses + headroom) Max Websocket Clients should be 1800 * 0.75 = 1350 Then ThreadsPerChild should be 1800 - 1350 = 450 Is my reasoning correct or horribly wrong? The websockets are the ones which should be focused on right, because keeping these open will yield the best performance, right? EDIT: I see in the logs that with the configuration above, it lowers the WLMaxWebSocketClients to 337, which is 450 * 0,75. Thus, ThreadsPerChild should be equal to ThreadLimit on Windows (as only 1 process is spawned). When setting ThreadsPerChild = 1800, it now says: [VirtualHost: main] Lowering WLMaxWebSocketClients to 1350. Increase ThreadsPerChild to support more connections Which is what we want, right?
You may need to increase the number of Max Websocket Clients parameter in IFS Middleware Server Admin Console (Apps 10). This should drop the number of error messages you are seeing in the log. NOTE: Please try this change in your test environment first. I already increased that to 5000, but I’ll try to increase it to 32768. Thank you.

What is the error message that HttpServer1.logs are filled with? It is filled with ERROR:32 Active Websocket Connection Limit Reached: 4294967283

Hi, There is too little information here to be able to know, is it possible to provide more details? Are you getting the error when generating the code, or deploying it? Can the error be from the newly added code? If the customized file is added empty, or with just a small modification, does it generate an error then? Sorry for the lack of information, I tried again today, and I think I missed the part where you had to customize the dependent objects and include the “include fragment” line in it too. Hi, It should be possible by design to do this already. Just choose to Customize This on the fragment and override/overtake the item you are interested in. When we last tested this (UPD5), we got a compile error. Is this fixed in a newer release?

There is a possibility to customize projections from Aurena itself, but I don't know of a way to customize client metadata.
