transport order ifs 9

Transport Order is a functionality introduced with the Oil & Gas extension. It lets you move inventory, non-inventory and no-parts from one location to another. This generates transport manifest required for transportation.

Keeping history of Supplier Payment order and payment advice for reprinting

I’ve written a report rule to payment advice such that it saves in an shared location / FTP based on a payment run date as the folder name and file name to have the Supplier ID.  Reason to go with that method was that the report archive has a finite life as described about. Payment File Trace Info has the Payment Order details in a table format.

Copy parts from one site to another

On a different note, If you are using a “Master Site” to create all the parts and you want the new parts and the changes made to parts in the “Master Site” to be replicated to other sites, it is possible to create migration jobs of type “Replication” on certain tables such as Purchase_part_tab, Inventory_part_tab so that when a change or a new part is created it will automatically replicate to other sites (either all sites, or set of sites that is defined in the migration job.

Aurena Navigation - Next Record in a table screen

Seems that no one has an answer for this. Which leaves me with the conclusion that its not possible to navigate efficiently with keyboard only. :(

KPI Lobbies - IFS Cloud

Hi Dumeesha,Thanks for sharing the link. I believe  ‘KPI services’ referred in the document is some other feature which comes with the IFS Analysis models. I am pretty much interested in IFS Central Lobbies with KPI’s and the definition of these KPI’s. In IFS Cloud these industry specific lobbies are highly promoted and infact it is quite useful once you know how the numbers are made up. I am trying to dig in and see where the numbers are coming from.Regards,Malik

Standard Layout if printed via ‘Work Copy’ prints as ‘Purchase Order Work Copy’. If a customized layout is used, you will need to handle this scenario. Below is screen print of standard layout in Apps 10 Upd 9

Apps9: Anyone know of an order report that shows last traded with a customer/supplier?

I don’t think there is an existing report that provides the information you are looking for, but Supplier 360 and Customer 360 screen gives the information. You may want to write a quick report based on that.

Posting Error when Cancel Receipt for Purchase Non Inventory

This issue may be due to a bigger problem. From the screen prints, my assumption is you have done a fixed asset purchase and now trying to cancel the receipt. As the PO line is connected to the Fixed Asset Object (via preposting) the system is trying to reverse the acquisition value. Possibly your fixed asset object is in an active status and will not accept any further transactions on to the acquisition account. You may want to investigate down those lines… PS: I may be totally off the mark.

Setting up Company to Use Posting Proposal

@Berryly, since Posting Proposals (SINWOF) was introduced in Apps 8 (I guess), I never used manual matching. System will automatically match invoice with PO / receipts (based on settings) if there is a perfect match or is within the tolerance set up and is ready for final posting. If outside the tolerance, the invoice could be authorized (authorization can be inherited from the purchasing authorization, or can set up a different set of invoice authorization rules).

Revoking access to an Entity

@rumeshk, thought of page designer as well, but that leaves the doors unlocked with the curtains pulled :). This is still leave the access to the views (or tables) which contain sensitive data. Especially, with Bank Account details, Salary (Compensation) of Employees etc… I strongly believe R&D should provide a solid solution :).

Inventory In Transit

@Kanishka yes, Thanks! yes that is the process the customers are using currently. But when you run a report or analyse, what was sent and what was received at the other end is the same. Which is kind of not ideal. This becomes a big sticking point for warehouse staff, as they at times are adamant saying they did not receive the full qty and why would they want to record the total receipt :). I know we can’t solve this, but thought of throwing the question to see whether there are any other options.

Inventory In Transit

Expanding on the original question, I always had trouble on understanding the best practices for the following scenario.Stock is moved from Location A to B via Transport Task / Move Inventory using “In Transit” Function. Lets say a quantity of 10. If Location B does not physically get 10 (things got lost half way while transportation) they got only 8 units.How can this be handled?If the store person in Location B enters qty of 8 in “Receive from Transit” screen and receive only 8, what would you do with the remaining 2 which will sit in transit forever? Store person in Location B does not want to receive 10 and scrap 2 as it reflects on him and not the transportation.

Component Customer Order - Undo Delivery

Oops! What is the reason that you are trying to undo the delivery? Seems that the whole external order cycle is not completed (i.e. purchase order needs to be receipted after the Customer Order is processed) so the system doesn’t let us do a side step :(. May have to dig in deep and look at the transactions before suggesting a possible solution

If SINWOF is not installed, the customer hasn’t purchased Posting Proposal Module or else, it has been left out of the sales order in IFS which is used to build the environment.

Easier distribution of parts within DB to different sites

@EnzoFerrari just wondering what is stopping you’ll from proactively replicating the sales parts, rather than wait for a customer order to kick in and create the sales part. Is it simply because of the volume of data that you’ll are going to end up with?

Oil and Gas Extension - Transport Orders - WADACO

Hi Dario,Thanks for your response, The standard 3 Transport Task related processes are already in the customers environment. Oil and Gas Extension has a functionality called Transport Orders (not Transport Tasks), this enables Inventory, Non-Inventory and No-Part lines to be added to a Transport Order (Transport Task handles only Inventory Parts) and move from one location/site to another.Pretty much similar to the standard WaDaCo processes for Transport Task, I am looking for processes for Transport Orders.I have read in many forums that it is possible to create new WaDaCo processes which will be a customization. Unfortunately the customer is on a no-modification policy and may even look at third party barcode scanning apps which may spit out a csv to be migrated / loaded across to IFS.Regards,Malik

Preventive Maintenance on Fixed Assets

I am not sure whether you are referring to ‘Serial Objects’ or ‘Serial Parts’ in the manufacturing process. If manufacturing process is used, the outcome can be a ‘Serial Part’ which will not have a ‘Serial Object’. Unless I am unaware of any new features that creates serial objects as well. If the items that you are referring is serial objects, then the process described above by @Mithila Rathnayake  will work, you will have to do the same in ‘Serial Objects’ screen instead of ‘Functional Objects’. You may want to take utmost care when connecting Serial/Functional Objects with Fixed Asset object especially when work tasks are executed with PR/PO’s which will try to post to the acquisition account. If for some reason you had to cancel a PO receipt connected to a Work Order (Fixed Asset preposted Object) you may end up with erroneous transactions which are irreversible.
