I tried leading the users through Prepare Work Order and then to Quotation originally and they were not responsive to it for a couple of reasons. I can see if that’s changed. Thank you for the info. This does not actually solve our Accepted issue, however. An Estimate is Accepted when the end-user agrees to the service. There really doesn’t seem to be another status that would represent this well. While we are servicing the machine (on-site, cal lab, or repair lab) something else is identified. Cal becomes repair for example or parts are needed on the Work Order and we need to get the original Estimate amended. We always use Estimate.
@Community.ifs.com/ideas I don’t believe we’re quite ready for such an undertaking related to the function at this time. I may reach out in the future though and see how things are going, appreciate the offer. If we had an out-of-the-box solution, we’d implement it today so the need is definitely there. The time and resources are not at the moment for a massive undertaking, unfortunately. Thanks for leading the charge, Stefan!

@Xavier Fernando Glad you mentioned it. We’re actually looking at Correction Invoices now. We are currently utilizing Correction Invoice for taxes only. However, when we ran Correction Invoice through Test environment the other day, we were able to get possibly good results in IFS. If we change it, we would need to update reporting and the crystal report. Can you think of any drawback in IFS itself? Is this one of its intended uses? Thanks.

No...definitely not using the original sales part or even another customer order unless you credit the original order in full and re-bill in total. We do this a lot for entire orders in a separate non-inventory site rather than the actual inventory site. There are several ways (instant invoice, credit and re-bill, and others) to adjust the customer account for their total owed without affecting the inventory itself. If you go that route, you should do an RMA first to return the inventory, then reship the item returned. Thank you @ShawnBerk . When we complete a credit and re-bill, our inventory is affected. It’s one of the negatives of utilizing this process. We have to move the product to a virtual location and then rebill. I will look into the option of instant invoice option.

On the off-chance anyone else is experiencing this issue, I found this solution….Change the options via the registry to force the option. Here are the settings to allow all apps:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModelUnlockDeveloper mode – Set the value of AllowAllTrustedApps and AllowDevelopmentWithoutDevLicense to 1
We also require this functionality. This seems like something that should be offered as a basic option out of the box. The use case of a user requiring the ability to see stock in all sites, but only move stock in one site seems very common and straight forward. Appreciate the expert’s work-arounds. Unfortunately, none of these will work in our situation. Is this on IFS’s radar as a real customer need? Did you find additional solutions @Community.ifs.com/ideas or others in this thread experiencing the same issue?
I see this is an old post, but thought I’d mention Call Center and Support Center (both mentioned in this thread) are two very different modules used for a similar purpose. Call Center is more robust and developed, but didn’t work for our needs because of the limitation of required field Customer Number. Instead, we ended up going with Support Center. It is very light and required quite a few custom fields and events because we needed something with more functionality. Like I said, I know this is an old post, but in case anyone is looking for this type of solution and comes across this, I’d recommend checking out both modules, Call Center and Support Center, at least at a high level.
A couple things for anyone experiencing a similar issue…Vinu was correct regarding Connection Type being the source of the issue. Thanks @Vinu Peiris for your help!I’m not sure why, but in this environment in particular, Connection Type defaulted to blank. In our other environment, it defaulted to Equipment, which I believe is expected. Also, for some reason when I updated Connection Type to Equipment as suggested above and refreshed the cache for Mobile and Security like I mentioned above, the Survey did not automatically start coming through for newly created Work Assignments when they were moved into Work Started or existing Work Assignments when they were moved to Work Started. However, a day later, it was fine. I’m not really trying to solve the why here, just mentioning these unusual exceptions in case it helps someone in the future.
Thanks @Vinu Peiris. I’ll open a case as requested.I should also mention for anyone else reading this, I have refreshed my mobile security cache multliple times since creating the WTC and survey. If I make any change, it is just 2nd nature to do so. Same with Security cache as they only take a moment.
@Vinu Peiris I added Equipment as the Connection Type in WFC. I do not see the fields you referenced in my mobile client however. I had a new Work Order assigned to me after updates were made. I Started the work, as you can see here. I still do not have an EForm though.
@Vinu Peiris Since it cannot be canceled due to clocking you cannot cancel the work assignment in the traditional way but if you delete the clocking from the “Work Task Clocking” window the cancel option will be enabled again in ‘Transferred Tasks/Work Assignment’.Thank you so much. It’s great to have a work-around for this! The idea of the work assignment not being able to be removed is - we’ll say uncomfortable. :)

This is not ideal functionality for a multitude of reasons, but it is helpful information to have. Sounds like once started, the work assignment must be completed by the mobile user via the mobile device. This is quite a bit more restrictive than Apps8 where we can bring the Work Order back at any time as needed. However, I understand some of the logic as today, we do end up with many Failed Transactions due to these changes. I am happy to hear when it is in ‘Accepted’, we can still cancel it.If there is a situation where we must bring the Assignment back and it is ‘Started’, I guess best practice would be to allow the technician to complete the ‘bad’ Assignment and create a new one associated with the Task if it is something that must be changed and the technician cannot.
@Vinu Peiris Our Mobile client issue is still being investigated.Filters was blank by default when I created this WFC originally and I did not add any filters.Looks like you are saying it should be Equipment.Filters has been updated > Connection Type = Equipment. No other filters are set.This also makes sense based on Apps8 default on Surveys ‘WO Integration’, which is basically equivalent to Filters Apps10. I just left the default filter on when I created the WFC in Apps10. Hopefully, this is the issue. I can test it as soon as our Mobile client issue is resolved and I’m able to connect again. I think I can prove this out through Technician Portal so I might try that in a bit here.Thanks.Here is my Filters tab now.
We installed a delivery from IFS, our middleware crashed - which we recovered, but now we cannot initialize a user on the mobile client.IFS is working on the source of the issue/resolution. In the meantime, I am unable to try your suggestion. I will as soon as the mobile client is available again though and report back. Thank you.

Confirmed - all available ServiceEngApp Activites are granted, including eForms.Actions was one of several screenshots I had to remove in order to post originally. All Actions toggled to Use, not mandatory by default. It seemed better to leave everything set to Use to start with. I only have 4 tabs, no Action Flows tab - perhaps because we are only on UPD9? I only have one Permission Set Filter on and that is for Inventory Part In Stock. I set it up to try to speed up initialization. Thanks.

Workflow Configuration:I had to remove several screenshots to be able to reply.Workflow Configuration is “Activated”MWO is the option to use so “Tech Portal and MWO” should be correct. Filters: I opted not to use any. I’m assuming filters should be optional and would further limit visibility of the Surveys based on the criteria selected.Actions: Everything available action is defaulted to ‘Use’ and was left it at default when I first created the Survey and now. However, I do not have ‘Surveys’ as an available Action. IFS wanted us to confirm we have Surveys toggled on from this action list. See screenshot where I filtered searching for Action Description = ‘surve%’ and a second sort in alphabetical order, also showing the missing ‘Surveys’ toggle. For some reason, when searching alphabetically, I have ‘eForms’ at the end of the list, which is toggled to ‘Use’. I think this may be a UPD difference possibly, but am not sure?The Survey is published and the closing date is in the future. V
We are on UPD9. It is our intention to roll out with UPD9 as well.
