Hi Dameenda, thanks for your feedback! Any idea what’s the business logic behind this? A confirmed PO is just saying that date and price are correct.. So it’s even better from a DOP perspective: you’re sure that it will be on time. You’re more sure then when it’s planned or released.. Why does IFS block this? Best regards!

Thanks Dario! There must be some logic, as Autopick always takes the correct default location. Changing that parameter and opening the LOV displays a huge list of possible locations.But I don’t know the mechanism.

Hi, Thanks! It indeed looks like that, but however if you force it, using AutoPick, WaDaCo does grab the correct default location, in a hard way. So he is capable of doing it somehow?

WaDaCo: default location

Hi Mikko, thanks! However, opening the LOV gives me every possible location I could put that part. I don’t have a clue about the default location there. Business Proces: Operator needs to place the part on the default location. He scans the article, the default location is visualised. He goes to that location, but then sees that it’s full and needs to place it somewhere else. So he changes the ‘To Location”.

Shop floor workbench: close shop order without reporting last operation

Thanks Aan! The “problem” with this approach is that we need to navigate to the open operation. Best case would be that we do it from the operation that we report. The “receive shop order” only appears if we report the last operation of the shop order.

Which Procedure Is Working When Database Saving From Advanced Planning Board To IFS?

Hi, I’m using Cloud. I cannot find the debug console back. However, I want to avoid that my shop order are released after rescheduling. They are in DOP and releasing them has updating consequences. How do I avoid that shop orders are release after rescheduling and saving?

Hi, You are correct, I did it wrong in my exercise. Apologies. It is however a strange way of reasoning: As long as the PO is released or confirmed, you can net it. In the period is has arrived and is on arrival location, you cannot. And afterwerds, once in stock, you again can.

Difference Unit Cost - Part cost

Hi, no, all is empty. New created part, only added a routing and a structure. Routing says 2 man hours are needed. I start production, but I report 5 hours on it.On receipt, IFS will take the cost of the estimated (=2hours), not the actual (=5hours).

Hi @First Employee , If you manufacture part without the cost rollup, then the first shop order receipt actual cost will be set as the standard cost of the part. Regards, Mithun K V In our case, IFS takes the Estimated Accumulated Cost. That’s the OOREC value. Other go into variances. Is that a setting?

thanks! For the following situation:I have a new manufactured part. There is no cost calculation done. I manufacture it for the first time and I want that the actuals determine the cost, not the estimated. I will use that part immediately after I produced it, so there is no time to update routings/structure and cost set 1.I don’t know how long it will take before i start producing, so I can’t determine the cost properply up front. Can this be achieved?

Hi @First Employee , Would you try using the option Not Allowed in Outside Reserve/Backflush of the work center so that only material from inbound location are issued. Regards, Mithun K V Hi, This prevents also auto reservations outside the inbound centers :( Okay, then I don’t think there’s any setting that can prevent an already reserved material line from being issued. Is it necessary to reserve the material before it is being issued? This is the current proces: We reserve automatically, from stock in our warehouse. Warehouse team uses transport task to move those reserved materials to the shop floor. We do it this way because we use many parts per shop orders: this way we can easily create a task per shop order. Parts are moved to the shop floor some time before the SO is started. We want to issue right before starting the SO, to have correct WIP numbers. Best regards!

Okay, that would be the same as backflush. I think you then can set the Outside Reserve/Backflush to Reserve Allowed on the work center of the operation which to the material is connected. Then system will only issue material from the locations defined as inbound to the work center. Hi, Thanks for the reply, however this doesn’t the trick. I can still issue if the material is reserved on a non-inbound location.

How is the operator issuing the materials? Is it done though the automatic issue option, or using manual issue (where quantity and exact stock record is selected)? Automatic, only reserved materials

DOP pegged SO update setting

It depends on the use of the part in different DOP’s. We have instances where we would have a req supply type, but the underlying parts should be DOP (and vice versa). But that’s not possible. So we put it all on req and need full level.

Thanks! So, the only difference between part cost and unit cost is that you can calculate in part cost, and select the calculation that suits you and copy it to cost set one?If you have both part cost and unit cost, and they are different, what does IFS take? Example: If I calculate a cost in a interim header for a configurable part, I do need to it in “cost set one”. But that’s only in interim, not in the standard DOP header?

How to print attachments automatically for shipments

we are struglling with the same issue. Would be very convenient indeed that attachment can get printed together with a report from the same source. Example: shop order report - shop order attachments
