Hi @bucrobsired You could create a custom metadata for task_text and uncheck “is required” checkbox from there. Then it will override FSM Metadata. Hope this may help.

Audit Performance impact

Hi @Heshala ,You could always use audit function to track the changes happened in the selected columns of tables based on your requirement. But if you select all the columns of the table to audit, it could cause performance issues. It is good to discuss with the customer and identify the most critical data that they need to audit. Then you could only create audit based on that requirement to prevent any performance issues. Below document explains how to create an audit. Furthermore, refer below topic. Hope this may help.

How we can automatically archive the data

Hi @meenakshim Normally archive process is a one time process. If you would like to trigger it automatically on any specific table, you may try creating a schedule process. But it is not recommended to archive data frequently. Hope this may help.

Can we archive based on different values of the table

Hi @meenakshim You can archive data on FSM tables (attachment, contract, invoice, part_tranlog, purchase_order etc.) that are older than the archive date unless they are referenced by another active record. If you do not specify any date, records older than 5 years are archived. If you are not using the data in active records it is good to archive those records by specifying a date. If the table that you are trying to archive is not available in the Archiving Engine, you may go to custom metadata > add/select the table > active archive check box. Hope this may help.

Where archive table data are stored in FSM?

Hi @meenakshim If you archive data from a table, for example attachment table, they will be stored in a separate archive table starting with “a_”. In this example archived data will be stored in a_attachment table. You can you can use sql query tool to query and find archived data. Thank you.

How to add/remove/control search criteria in module QBEs

Hi @Pranavan Paranthaman and @Susie Yao Thanks much for your inputs. But the requirement is like below.Let’s assume we have order locator QBE. By default 37 search criteria available in that QBE in standard version.My requirement is to add 5 more fields to the search criteria which are not available in the standard for one user. Next requirement is to remove 5 standard search criteria and they should not even appear under “criteria” button for another user.To achieve this do I have to go for a customization. Thank you.

Source_type PU and DU in part_tranlog

Hi @Heshala PU means - Part usage and DU - means direct update. If you use any part as a part usage in a request/task, transaction log will be created with source type PU. I am not sure about the direct update process flow. Hope this may help.

UI Designer Request screen

Hi @TSQTINAMCF I agree with Anjula’s suggestion and please make sure that this user is not assigned to multiple roles. If the user is assigned to multiple roles and one of these roles has no access restrictions defined, the user still be able to see the screens. There are different restriction levels available in FSM,If you want to restrict access to complete menu, screen - you can use role functionality and select the type of the restriction as disabled, read-only and no delete. You can restrict access to specific record (Ex: specific request, specific place etc.) by using access groups. You can restrict access to specific field in a screen using studio function - UI designer.

FSM Mobile - Remove Screen Tip

Hi @ioannamourtzaki I tested this with simple steps. Go to your custom screen properties and blank the Tip field. Just leave couple of spaces using the space key in the tip field and save. I tested in windows mobile and this worked fine. Just preview the revision and navigate to your screen. You will not be able to see anything as screen tip. If you navigate back to the custom screen properties, you can see the tip field is filled with (0)But if you add (0) as the first step in tip field, it will not work. Hence, just leave couple of spaces in the tip field. Hope this may help.

Removing installed parts

Hi @Fluffy In FSM, installed items are considered as products installed at customer sites and not tracked in the inventory. Hence, no installed product records have stock records in the FSM. What I would recommend is, you may create an RMA with the line type receive. Add the part id, receiving place and quantity to be received.Then go to the receiving screen and add new record, mark the usability as usable and add all the serial ids to be received > post the receivingAs soon you receive the installed products, a stock record will be created for the warehouse that you received the items. Furthermore, in all the product records, Located at place will be changes to the warehouse.Hope this may help

Serial/Part Change on Repair in IFS FSM

Hi @RAQVVAIDYA If your requirement is to change the part id and it’s serial id after it is repaired, according to my understanding, there is no such baseline functionality in the FSM.

FSM - Add 'Attachments' to a custom screen

Hi @ioannamourtzaki In custom screen, select add field > select the tablethen select attachment icon in the bottom Then select any numeric column, control type - attachmentSave and preview the design. Navigate to the screen and you will be able to see the added attachment field in the screen. Hope this may help.
