Instructions for PROD to lower environment cloning

We provide a script for removing demo data for copying from Dev/Test to Prod, but there is no specific upport for copying in the other direction. For copying only configurations use the Package Deployment tool. Thank you Jon. Would you mind please sharing the script used for removing from DEv/test DEV/TEsT to prod cline? And do we have any document to guide with instructions, best practices, pre & post checks for environment cloning activity?

FSM Customer portal accessibility issue

All users of the Customer Portal must be created as Person records. Hence, should be a licensed user. You need to have the person created on licenses either NAMED, STUDIO, CUSTPORTAL. Apart from settings from a usual person, you need to setup a default place for portal access/place for portal access for the customer places the person is intended to access through portal. Yes, you can create service requests RMAs and view them, view invoices, have own workflows, create blogs for customers - for this you need to have admin access (STUDIO license or have the role function PORTALBLOGEDITACCESS), create forums etc.

Tech/Repair portal screen customization - issue

Hi,I assume you mean to change the screen in FSM client not in the respective portals? Just check if the mentioned users have multiple roles assigned in their person record. If so, might be the other role is superseding. Then you may need to assign the customized screen to all the roles of that person. If this is not the case will need to look through your changes to see the issue as you seemed to have done the correct way assuming you selected the correct custom screen and no access group issue is interfering.

Easy way to customize IFS FSM theme as per Customer branding?

Hi @NisalG, Is there any way to set at-least the primary, secondary colors SmartClient and WebClient OR customer theme need to be Customized and its not configurable as per customer Branding colors like we can set primary, secondary colors in Mobile Design? Thanks, Shivam You can customize your own themes by creating a GlobalThemes.xaml file from one of the default themes and adding the changes to the colors and logos as you need. You would upload the custom theme xaml files to the path denoted by the PATH_TO_CUSTOM_THEMES app param. This way it is also possible for us to configure our own themes to be visible under file > UI themes in smart client. there can be only one theme in GlobalThemeXaml though. For web client, there are some app params also that defines primary colours. E.g. WEBCLIENT_PRIMARY_COLOR: Primary web safe hex value that defines the applications main branding color, and other params to set images and logos which you could check. For mob

FSM Mobile SMS Notification Response?

You could probably achieve this through a config. Where you can create a client script to uniquely map the script to run when the user interacts with the notification in the Mobile Client in backoffice, by adding the script in notification message screen > mobile tab > client script field. E.g. Having a script to navigate to a screen once user hit a notif message where user will be forced to respond with an email or to probably send an automatic mail with a generic respond to a set distribution list indicating message has been read (the latter I am not sure, might need to play around to figure if it’s possible). Can get an idea through some baseline client scripts like ‘URGENT_TASK_ACTION’.

FSM Mobile 5.7 - Show pricing based of part pricing rule

@DHPALK - I didn’t know there was a web client. is that available on 5.7 and does it cost extra? our implementation team didnt advise us of that so i can explore that. In regards to the other items, having the cost on the summary screen is good enough, they dont need to see detail. would that work for the Quote screen as well in the summary? In quote overview baseline screen, you cannot see the prices. You need to go to the respective quote > labor or quote > parts to see the price lists associated. However, if you have enabled simple pricing (app param), then the discounts will not apply for what technicians enter in mobile. You need to disable simple pricing for discounts to take place for parts/labor entered by technicians.

FSM 5.7 Mobile - Important Information Notification

Hi @DHPALK Thanks for the response. Looking into those app params that doesnt line up with the notifications i have on my screenshot. One of which shows when a task is 1 day overdue and the other when the commitment is overdue as well. is there somewhere else these are stored? I ended up looking through all of mobile app param but didnt see anything else The param NOTIFY_DAYS_IF_OTHER_TASKS_EXIST (Displays a message when other tasks are scheduled within this window of time.) would be the one in play here. But further, if you wanna have more notifications configured you can do so by a combination of BR and notification messages. E.g. with BR process ID 08, and having notification messages setup(in so that the displays occur in mobile screens. In latest FSM 6 you can even include client scripts also to run once you hit such notifications - which you can configure in same ‘notification message’

FSM Mobile - Save photo Attachments

Hello In FSM 5.7 mobile, when attaching photos, you can only take the photo and save within FSM but not to your camera roll. This is an issue as there have been many instances of the file getting corrupted and unable to retrieve it since it only exists in the attachment database. Is there a way to allow the app to save these photos to the camera roll as well? I know users can upload there own photos but you have to navigate through android root menus and that is not user friendly Hi, the attachments will be saved in your local storage of the device at storage > 'com.metrix.metrixmobile' folder > attachment. Do you mean to say, you want to change this path?

Yes, that is okay. You do not have to have all in one rule. But make sure Cost Adjustment requires that a cost is found or input and List adjustment requires that a list price or flat rate price be found first in order to apply the adjustment.

FSM Mobile 5.7 - Show pricing based of part pricing rule

How do you set up the mobile platform to show pricing based on part pricing rules? we want our users to be able to see what special discount a customer gets while on site instead of having to reach out to the office to check In mobile the discounted prices are what is been visible in the summary screen - once you set up all part/non-part records. But if you want to make the pricing adjustments details in mobile it might be a customization rather than a simple config. As an alternate, business can allow read only access for the technicians to web client - request/task screens, where they can go in to those details and check.

The app param names speaks for itself of the function it does, or you can visit these app params in smart client to read the descriptions. This feature is only available for Android. How to create a new task from FSM mobile app (version 6.1) ?

Yes, are you using android? If so, you can go to the jobs screen > long press on the top of the screen > you will see option to select ‘schedule jobs’ > select it and proceed to enter details to create the task. The task will be auto assigned to the person you are logged in from.

Mobile User - Cannot create shipment

Seems good. What i would recommend doing to narrow down the issue is to see if the shipment can be posted in backoffice. Just to make sure no data mishaps with stock records. If can be successfully posted, then try to do a transfer from same LBL place, different location to LBL > GOOD location and see if that gets posted correct.

Transferring Parts to Mobile Effectively using Logistics Manager

This is the expected behavior as the Stock tables and Part table are not synced real time in FSM sync rules (except for part usages and part needs are synced real time). They are synced in "batch all" and "batch delta". Hence why you need to initialize. It is not recommended to keep part and stock tables on real time sync as they contain large set of data, and non-time critical data. Also, since they need to be sent to many or all devices not just a specific user at a time.Therefore, you could check to see the "Frequency" of the Sync rule. That frequency is the period that the sync rule executes and try to change it to more frequently executed. Hi, i wanted to follow up on the frequency of the sync rule question.The sync rule frequency is 24. assuming thats 24 hours? that means that every 24 hours it automatically syncs the new data? is there a downside to have that sync frequency any shorter? Acitivity Feed in FSM

Yes, this is true. activity feed is a fairly expensive feature in terms of resources as RnD highlights. It will have a performance impact if enabled. However there has been no alternatives shared for this concern. Maybe would be a good idea to drop a question to RnD to seek for further inputs and future plans on any enhancements they wish to implement to eliminate the performance impact?

FSM 5.6.3 Mobile - Initialize Device from Mobile Dashboard causes password issues

I am attempting to re-initialize a mobile device from the Mobile Dashboard screen (Mobile Dashboard > Right click on device > “Initialize Device”) which works - the INIT messages gets pushed to the mobile device, the mobile device initializes and everything works until you log out. After logging out on the mobile app, when you try to log in next (using the same password as before initializing) the app says the password is invalid. No changes have been made to the person record, nothing done except “Initialize Device” The issue is that, in 5.6.3 if the Initialize from the Mobile Dashboard in the FSM Client, it clears the user_credentials table and you cannot log in again after that. It has nothing to do with changing passwords. When you do an init from the device they put the person id and password in the cache and then when init is done it retrieves those values and write them back into the user_credentials table. This does not happen if the initiated it from the dashboard
