Print Attachment with Work Orders

This has been implemented in 22R2. Further in 23R1 there was a similar functionality introduced on Work Tasks to print attachments along with the Work Task through “ Work Task Report Control” @Tor The "embedding document attachments into the printed PDF" has NOT been implemented yet. We are looking into that to be added "soon", but it's not there now.

@kvbe We don't have any automatic "document cleanup" (nor "archiving") feature today. It's a bit strange that more people are not asking for it since I think the amount of documentation that are produced in the world is not shrinking... 🙂 I also think, given proper configuration options, it would not be that hard to implement.If it's really important to you, don't hesitate to create an idea for this in the Ideas section here on IFS Community.

I suggest you read the Define Location descriptions even if it is not the full functional description. I don't have a recipe for you but it should not be too hard to copy a map position from one place to another. You just need to find a good triggering point. A BPA/Workflow should be able to do it as well.

We don't have any functionality that can do this in an easy manner. So data migration/fndmig might be one option. A custom event, which will allow you do execute PL/SQL code, is also an option.

EDM attachment very slow when locking a documnet attached to invoice in App 10 Aurena

Sorry that it has taken so long to respond to this, but we have been in the middle of a UPD deployment and investigating an Oracle upgrade. I had the end-user run the “Document Object Connection” with the Chrome DevTools running. I believe I have captured the appropriate data for diagnosing this, just don’t know what part of it to post. I am also worried that it might contain proprietary or confidential information. Here is a screenshot showing the process that took the longest (almost a minute). To be clear, this process works well in IEE, but very slow in Aurena. I also captured all of the DevTools output to a HAR file, but that has tons of text to it. here is the line referenced with the long time factor (redacted for security): "url": "https://server.domain.site.tld:99999/main/ifsapplications/projection/v1/DocumentHome.svc/GetOCTResultCount(LuName='ManSuppInvoice',KeyRef='COMPANY%3Dcomp%5EINVOICE_ID%zzzzzzzzzz')", The screenshot is quite clear, just getting the count of

I have never used the "subscription" feature in IFS so I cannot say if it can do what you want, but a custom event should be able to do it, if needed. It's a bigger thing though...

Did they sort it out yet? As I said, it's probably some sort of firewall/network access problem. It's an "external" problem, nothing that can be fixed from inside IFS Cloud.

Thanks for sharing @Mathias Dahl . I wasn’t aware there was also a demo on youtube available. Great stuff. I was also trying to raise some awareness on this nice feature with a LinkedIn post. The post got quite some traction which says how useful this feature is. (3) Post | Feed | LinkedIn That's great, thanks for helping out spreading the news on this nice feature! @Mathias Dahl in another community post I saw that in order to use this feature there’s a separate SKU that needs to be purchased. Does the customer also need to have their own subscription with Adobe Sign or will this be managed by IFS? Yes, the customer need to buy an SKU that gives them a "pack" of 100 esign transactions per month. They can buy several packs, if needed.They do NOT need any Adobe licenses of their own. We take care of that.So, apart from buying that SKU, there is nothing else to do, just start signing! 🙂

As a general rule, it's not a bad idea to avoid custom events or anything "custom", and try to adjust your work processes to work with the system, and ask for new features to be added if you think you have a need that other customers might have as well. Hi @Kazuya Sashino Can you tell us a bit more on how you plan to use this? Also, do you happen to have access to the client code (as a partner, I hope you have)? If you have, it's the best place to look since you will have a better understanding on what values you need to provide to that particular agentcall.As a general rule, regardless of what you are trying to do:- Avoid relying on the Aurena Agent- Avoid relying on macrosIt's not that the above doesn't work, but if you can find other ways to solve the problem, it might be better. Ideally, we don't want to rely on the Aurena Agent for anything, but sometimes it's the only solution we have.

If you keep all documents in the database, then, by doing a delete in the Document Revision screen, you should be able to see the necessary call that's done from IEE that you can also use yourself.

@Mathias Dahl I have been looking through the documentation and have one question. Is it a requirement that all that need to sign documents need to have an IFS licence or could this functionality be used to send documents to be signed by external parties not having an IFS licence? It's only the IFS user (the person who sends the document for esigning )that needs an IFS license. "External" participants, or even internal (same company) that are not IFS or Docman users, don't need any IFS license to use this functionality. The functionality not be very useful if we required every third-party person/participant to have an IFS license 🙂I hope this answers your question.

@NicolasB-K4U Hi, I think I know exactly what you are experiencing. You are using our currently "broken" (almost) PDF signature functionality. I can see it on the error message.This functionality is currently not very useful in IFS Cloud. I suggest that you disable the custom events or standard events that triggers the PDF signing.I cannot say if it's a standard or custom event that triggers this, in your case, but you should look at what events you have enabled and disable the one that reacts to your approval (I think it's a standard event) and disable it, or disable the event action that is used to sign the PDF.

Deprecation of the FTP and Shared repository types in Docman in 24R1 - a heads-up

Very useful heads-up @Mathias Dahl . May I ask a somewhat related question? My customer has got classified data in their files that they don’t want to leave their network, but IFS is running at an IFS partner data center. If using File Storage would the files ever be stored (temporarily) on IFS servers using this option? The data is never stored on disk in the "middle tier" (a Kubernetes cluster with multiple containers), but the data will of course go through it, via the network calls that streams the files from and to the backend storage.
