Alternate part planning

For step 3, the common method is to have the primary structure alternate ‘*’ consist of component A and a second structure alternate consisting of component B. When the shop order is created, the structure alternate can be manually changed from ‘*’ to the other (right-click update materials and/or operations > update structure revision and/or alternate).I cannot recall, though, if you can change the structure alternate on the DOP Order prior to releasing it to create your shop order.

Many Lots per Production Order

Unfortunately for Order Based the only method available is to right-click in the header Tracking > Generate Order Based Lots and repeatedly enter 1 for the Expected Quantity for Lot and click Generate. For Lot Tracked parts, you can enter the Number of Batches and the system will determine the Qty per Batch.

Inventory Part Plannable Quantity

Plannable Qty of 9999999.99 indicates that the Due Date on the row is beyond the lead time, so there is infinite quantity plannable. You can satisfy any demand for this date.

@zwall are you referring to 1) alternate components for standard BOM components, 2) by-products produced and received during production of the shop order part, or 3) by-products that are listed on the By-Products/Produced Parts tab but are also listed as components in the BOM because they are produced, received, and then issued to the shop order as a component?

When converting a Sales Quotation to a Customer Order, how do control the Status of the Sales Order Created?

This is controlled by the Site setting below, Create CO in Released Status.This is a default value used when converting a sales quotation or a business opportunity into a customer order. If this check box is selected, the option to create a released customer order will be selected when converting a sales quotation or a business opportunity. If it is cleared, the option to create a released customer order will not be selected when converting a sales quotation or a business opportunity. The Planned status is necessary if the customer order is going to be connected to a project.

If this is available in Apps9 documentation, I would recommend getting familiar with the Labor Clocking Calculation found under Manufacturing > Shop Floor Reporting in Topics in IFS Applications. Start at the section on Group Start Operations and see the different scenarios presented and the results that are output.

Shop Order Cost Variance Report Can be downloaded to Excel

@ronhu just looking at the numbers and trying to find a relation or expression to determine the Calc Variance value, taking a glance at Shop Orders Costs it looks like (I cannot validate this as I am not technical and cannot read the code) Calc Variance = Total Std Accum Cost - (Actual Accumulated Cost Total + Total Std-Operation Scrapped).

Safety Stock & Min Lot Size update

Auto update Planning Method and Safety Check box is switched on in your sample record. You may want to switch it off. Also, there is a scheduled job which looks at these parts and update the value on several parameters. @malik.sally is this a standard task that I can configure to run monthly? If so, what is the Task Name as I cannot find one.

Queue Time

Queue Time - the amount of time a job waits at a work center before setup or work is performed on the job (APICS Dictionary, 15th ed.).So, no, queue time does not affect the Start Date of an operation. It does, however, affect the start date of the shop order, which in turn determines when any materials not connected to an operation will be required for operation 1. It also affects the Finish Date of the preceding operation.Here I have an operation where the run time is 10 units/hour, order lot size = 10, work center queue time is 48, Need Date is 4/15. Operation duration is one hour, material is required in stock 6 manufacturing days prior.Changing the Queue Time to 0, the operation Start Date remains the same (still only taking one hour to run) but the order Start Date is changed.

It should, as logically how can you put a new part into an old bill of material?The proper process is dependent on your company's configuration management policy.Is your company required to track all changes (revisions) to the bills of material for legacy record keeping due to the type of work it is involved in (defense, government, food/beverage, pharmaceuticals, etc.)? If so, then a new revision would always be required.Or does your company policy state that revision management in IFS is not necessary? I've worked with companies for whom this is true, and changes to bills of material do not require a new revision. Therefore, a step in their new part process is to backdate all new parts to an arbitrary date such as 1/1/1990 to ensure there will be no phase in date conflicts such as yours.

That is how date effectivity works in IFS, the components must exist (i.e., phase in) prior to or on the same date as the parent part revision.

Your parent part 82357 shows a Phase In Date of 02/01/2024 in the header. The error is generated because the Phase In Date of component part GR82357 is later than this date.To avoid this error, either:Change the phase in date of the component GR82357 to be equal to or before 02/01/2024. Make a new revision of the parent part 82357 with a phase in date equal to or after that of GR82357.

@dsj I am working in the Approval Process tab of the Attachments panel in a Change Request.Issue 1 - On an existing approval step where I want to edit the Person ID, selecting the drop down results in a useless list of Person IDs, no Names are displayed. How to see the associated Names here? Issue 2 - In this same drop-down list of Person IDs, when i click ‘Find’, again all that is displayed is Person ID. Can the column ‘Name’ be added here?

Custom Menu condition

The Condition determines under which condition the menu should be available, it is not passed to the new window. In your setup, the menu will be grayed out on all requisition lines in any status other than Planned, Released, or Partially Authorized.I think you need to create a menu that will run a search, so a PL/SQL Block should suffice. The search would find in Purchase Requisition Lines all lines for this Part No and Supplier in states Planned, Released, or Partially Authorized.
