Interested on Kanban functionality. Could you please share any document on setting up the basic data and information on how to use the fuctionality?

HI All,I am after your knowledge on setting up Order Types.We currently use several different Order types depending on if we are making to stock or making to order.We need to create a new order type, which we have done, but the problem we are facing is that once production is reported and stock receipted in, it is automatically reserving against the customer order.To create this new order type we duplicated the one with the actions that we wanted and this one did not have the auto reserve occuring. We also checked and all the settings appear to be the same.Do you know how to alter the functions of the order type to remove the auto reserve that is occuring?TIAK

If a repair shop order is created from component repair order is there any way in IFS to attach the shop order material to project inventory supply type? After that we want PMRP job to create demand for those materials. IFS does not seem to have anyway to convert consumed materials to Project Inventory.

Could someone explain to me the difference in the values found in the various Part Cost Bucket tables? part_cost_bucket_tab part_cost_bucket_one_tab part_cost_bucket_history_tabI am attempting to construct a Bill of Materials for a data warehouse, and these three tables seem to carry slightly different values.  For the purposes of demand calculations in the data warehouse, I need to be able to leverage a Bill of Materials as of any point in time, so I was hopeful that the history table would include everything I need -- but there are some examples of Part associations in the other two tables not available there.I could perform a simple union of these tables in my SQL query in order to handle for any missing data -- but that feels like a weak solution that could generate more confusion than it alleviates.Any guidance others could provide me on the nuances between these tables would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Morning We are using IFS apps 10 and I have been reviewing work centre capacities and have noticed large discrepancies in average capacity and demonstrated capacity but cant understand why?the work centre below is for a welding work centre with an average capacity of 7.15 hr but a demonstrated capacity of 39.6 hr. Available and theoretical capacity are both showing 7.75 hr per day.When reviewing the resource detail the capacity calculation base is set at group with a resource quantity of 5 to reflect the 5 welders working within this work centre (all with the same labour class) and group utilisation at 90% . does any one know the cause of the discrepancy? kind regards

Hi were are currently in the process of upgrading to apps 10 and ran into an issue.All of our inventory parts are set to Part Type “Purchased” - as we sometimes will buy and other times build the same part. We also have both Purchased & Manufactured product Structures for each of these parts. When quoting customers we use a business opportunity that we link to an Estimate (if we are manufacturing the part). In doing so, the estimated end item will use the default part type as being purchased (rather than manufactured) and will not allow the user to update it to Manufactured Part Type.  So when the user builds the product structure - they are building the purchased part structure instead of the manufactured product structure. IFS recommended we simply update the Part Type to be Manufactured on the inventory part record. This resolves the issue on the estimate but creates another problem for procurement since the part is now manufactured a

Hi, our customer has a requirement to generate a rework order(shop order) in IFSinside the rework order, (1)It should indicate which component need to be dis-assembly(2)And record the actual dis-assemblied Serial No and re-assebmly Serial No(3)And record the time and cost. In IFS, is there any function can meet this requirement?

In IFS 9, we were able to run the demand plan server steps more than once per month. In IFS 10, we are getting a message that it is not allowed. Our steps require us to do this but we keep getting the message “The period has already been aggregated. Create forecast can only be ran once per period”. How do we get around this? We’ve been told to just “ignore the error” but that does not work. 

We are trying to close out a project but we get the message that there is some work that remains to be completed.  When we go to the Unfinished Activity Work window the message reads,‘There is at least one Project Transaction which has not been completely invoiced or where Multi-Company Reporting Revenue voucher has not been created.’How do we resolve this issue?  The project has transactions from back in like 2006, 2007, 2008 so invoicing is not an option.  We just want to close this project.  

Can you tell me how we can grant a custom made IAL to user IFSSYS?We find in the documentation the following text.  Own views need to be granted to user IFSPRINT and IFSSYS We are able to grant the custom made IAL’s to IFSPRINT (via IFS application – Security – Permission Sets) but we don’t see the IFSSYS user here.Maybe we have to this in PL/SQL ?

We are looking to simplify the login process for our manufacturing shop floor computers.   Our plan is to have the clients launch from this link to bypass the IFS Landing page https://ifsserver:49080/client/runtime/Ifs.Fnd.Explorer.application   My question is, can you pass login credentials to the IFS IEE client so it auto logs on?  The only use for these workstations, will be Shop Floor Workbench.

Hi all,if someone can help in explaining rules system applies in shop order costing and accounting records of stock as some figures are hard to reconcile. We use IFS APP10, run our manufactured products on Standard cost, Cost per lot batch. When we open new item, we would expect that Estimated cost from Shop order cost are used to record receipts of qty on stock prior shop order is closed. However, we see system using quite different numbers some time, and we can not reconcile them to any calculation of the cost. Examples below: Part set up This is cost for same shop order which was reported in two steps. Cost per pcs of 3,67907 is one we would expect to be actual based on set up (machine and labor rates, material cost, etc.)

How do I find PO if I only have the Batch Number?

We want to create a custom field RAG_STATUS on the Supplier Info header screen. if Insurance Renewal Request = ‘YES’ THEN RAG_STATUS = ‘GREEN’ If Insurance Renew Requested = ‘NO’  and Insurance Renewal Date has not expired but is >= TODAY’S DATE -30 DAYS then RAG_STATUS = ‘AMBER’ If Insurance Renewal Date has expired then RANG_STATUS = ‘RED’ Finally, if possible we would like the field to highlight the RAG_STATUS field in the colour of the RAG_STATUS answer. Probably achieving the above via a custom event. Any ideas on how I can achieve this.

Hi!We use a lot of time adding new parts and registering these on many sites. Does anyone have a good solution for copying these parts out to different sites? The data for each part are more or less exactly the same. Could for example IFS Replication be used even though it’s not separate databases or should could we use IFS data migration? 

How is it possible to revalue the weighted Average costed part?Imagine a scenario where the inventory part is set up at Weighted average and made several receipts. The part has been in inventory for several years without any recent transactions. Now the business understands the value of the stock has gone down. Is there a way to revalue the inventory so that the previous value will change and the lost value charged against PnL. This is possible under standard cost.. but the concern is how to do this under Weighted average method.

 When creating new inventory parts, Phase In is defined by default to the day the Inventory Part is created. In many cases, this poses some problems, for example, when incorporating that new inventory part to a product structure which was started the day before (phase in “yesterday”), or when including the inventory part in shop orders where required date is in the past….  The fix is easy but tedious, updating the Phase in in the inventory part to sometime in the past.  Is there any way to set in IFS that al new inv Parts created are created with a pre-determined phase in? Thanks in advance,  Iker A  

Pre requisite: Set “Qty Calc Rounding” for part as “0”.Assume the Number = 150.00000000000012 When an inventory part has the UoM as Weight (kg), Volume (l), or Length (m), the rounding of the “Qty Required” for Shop Orders work as follows;ROUND(150.00000000000012, 0+ 2) = 150 However, when the UoM is set as “EA” (Each), with a Base unit “pcs”, the function behaves as follows;TRUNC(150.00000000000012, 0) + POWER(10, 0 * -1) = 151 If the “Qty Calc Rounding” for part is “2”. The value for UoM EA is 151.01. It seems when the UoM is EA the quantity is always rounded up regardless of the number.

How can I identify common parts across various Product Structures 

Is there any way in IFS 10 to make MRP result as Production Smoothing (Heijunka) ?
