Hello All, We are running client IFS version 9.0.52.0 and server version 6.90.19.0 I am looking to see if we can utilize the functionality of Business Mail. However, I have some questions. Is there a document that explains how the Business Mail works? How can I connect the Business Mail to the Business Opportunity? Is there an email app that I need to load in my Outlook to be able to connect to IFS? Any help will be beneficial for our team.

Hi,I have a question about creating new revisions, which is done to facilitate the change of a component from purchased to manufactured (and vice versa). The underlying aim is to find the cleanest way to ensure MRP calls for the correct part type (i.e. generating the desired requisition type).Current PracticeAt present, a new revision is created (ref. page, ‘Eng Revisions’ → column ‘Eng Rev’). Following that, phase out dates are inserted by the user (ref. ‘Inventory Part’ → tab ‘Revisions’) against all the preceding revisions (and the purchased and manufactured templates they encompass).Hence, when MRP runs, it’ll have no choice other than calling for the desired part type. Because all else is off the table, by inserting phase out dates.Suggestion/QuestionI believe we shouldn’t have to up-issue a part just to reflect it’s status change

Hi All,I’m trying to create a custom field that looks up the planner of a part (using INVENTORY_PART_API.Get_Planner_Buyer) where the company is always 1 and the part number is an other custom field in a custom logical unit I’ve created. Hi, In the current lay-out of our advanced planning board, all shop orders are showing line by line, in a step wise matter. Isn’t it possible to see them all next to each other, on one line?If i have many shop orders on different workcenters, i cannot see them all on 1 page. Also, it is possible to change to workcenter of a shop order in the advanced planning board, or do I need to do this in the application itself and reload? thanks!

Could someone point me to where I may find work instructions with examples for IFS site, production line, work center, and routing setup to support visual shop order planning? I see some general structure documentation on these and a few demos explaining new UI for Aurena, but I'd like to understand the optimum way to set up the architecture for our manufacturing sites & lines by referencing a step by step work instruction with some hypothetical examples.

After trying to close a Shop Order, we are having ghost reservations which show as a Handling Unit reserved to an order, but the parts were issued to another order and do not exist.  When trying to close out we receive an Inventory Part In Stock error message.  We have tried to un-issue the materials to the location it says it is reserved to, which shows the materials on the Shop Order reservation, but when tying to un-reserve it says the bin cannot be negative.  Looking for any help with this issue as we have multiple orders unable to be closed.   

How do you move shop orders within a schedule?  We do not use production schedules, but we may need to move shop orders up and down for start/stop dates. Also, how does a shop floor operator know which shop order he/she should be working on next? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  We are using the IFS Cloud.

Hi, We just starting to use IFS10 and we’re learning how to effectively use the MRP APW. We need to plan our shop orders ahead of the demand date for production level loading, but this creates Early Order MRP messages. How can we dismiss these messages once reviewed, so they do not re-appear after the MRP run? Of course until the demand date changes...

Hi i am using App 10 and would like can you have more than one default location connected to one inventory part?currently we have one location connected to teh inventory part so when goods in recieves the part into stock it will automatically suggest the default location (which is our paint store), but when we want to move inventory from the paint store to a shop floor location in the ‘Move inventory part’ window it automatically suggests the default location GSPS46. I want the system to show the storemen the other location the part can be moved to rather than them having to manually input the desired location number 18044.Is this possible?regardsJamie

For a manufactured part,if we set the Reserve/Backflush option to Manual in the Product structure and run a shop order flow,it would allow a user to issue material less than the shop order lot size but would also allow to receive the full quantitiy after operations are reported.any specific reason for this?

I am trying to use Command_SYS.Mail to Attach file created on the Database Server.I figured out how to attach a file from the Application Server, but my Package will run on the Database server and create a file on the database server.Is there anyway to tell Command_SYS.Mail to Attach a file from the Database Server rather than the Application Server?Version: IFS App 8.Thanks for any help.

Community, I might send this question before, but I still have no answer. how I could print HU label (as well as content label) automatically before put-away. I really don’t see any function support this. I am in APP10 UPD 9. Thank you.

Apps 10: Trying to set up Routing Rules to send Report Designer Report PDF to Connect saving the PDFs off to a Network File Share.  Need to include the order number or invoice number or pick list number etc as part of the file name so users can easily find the PDF.  This should be standard file naming to include the object name for users to be able to locate specific files.  I am not finding anything that shows how to configure this.  Output File set up has the %TAG=ANY_MESSAGE_VARIABLE% option but what this means isn’t explained anywhere in the documentation.  Would be great to have more in depth instructions around these processes.

I have created a Quick Report (Crystal Report) that uses the Azalea Code 39 barcode.  When running the report with the barcode in it the report fails with the message: Failed to retrieve the report.  Please contact your system administrator.    If I remove the barcode from the report the report runs without any errors. Please advise.

Any of you have any experience in storing a report from the Report Archive to Document Management (Apps8) ? We are searching a solution that automatic connects a printed reports in IFS report Archive to any business object. For instance, if you print a purchase order (PO) we would like it to be connected to the PO as a document in IFS Doc Mng or a printed customer invoice to be connected to a invoice. Does anyone know if it’s possible to schedule a Task between particular times?  I’m looking to scheduled a task daily to run every two minutes but only between 6am and 8pm each day.       Any PL/SQL assistance would be appreciated.   Many thanks.

How to setup a regular export from one of my favorites? (Scheduled Tasks?) Take existing browse (customers’ orders, inventory parts in stock, shop orders, shop floor reporting, etc.)   E.g. Inventory parts in stock export to csv excel file with certain file name onto the network storage drive (T) x 3 per day at 8am, 12noon and 5pm. (overwrite the same file name)

Hello,When an end user uses the Count per Inventory Part screen to count in an inventory part for the 1st time, the define cost structure screen pops up upon saving of the record.You are then required to select the cost bucket (e.g. average purchase price) and cost/unit value. Once you click OK, where does the cost/unit value get written to within IFS?We want to make this field visible to users on the count result per inventory part screen via a custom field to aid the users. I have turned on debug during this process, and it appears to write to temporary_part_cost_detail_tab table. However we are not sure if there a task which needs to be run to move it to the final screen or what is the correct process?Please can you provide guidanceNote: We are using IFS Apps 8.RegardsShaun

I have created a Crystal Report version of the PURCHASE_ORDER_PRINT_REP Operational Report for Purchase Orders. However, on the Purchase Order line there is a field PROMISED_DELIVERY_DATE.  We wish to print this field but it isn’t available in PURCHASE_ORDER_PRINT_REP.  Is there a way of adding this field to the report?  I initially tried creating a link to PURCHASE_ORDER_LINE_PART but this invalidates the report and it fails.  I know you cannot add custom fields to the PURCHASE_ORDER_PRINT_REP.   Can you advise how I can achieve adding other field(s).   Can I create a IAL and link this to the PURCHASE_ORDER_PRINT_REP?

Has anyone had any success with calculating the Cumulative Lead Time field?    I’ve not been able to get it to work.  I was advised by my previous employer a case had been filed, but there was never any resolution provided.  This was a number of years ( and releases ) ago… This morning, I updated the purchase part lead times for some parts in a structure, and ran the Calculate Cumulative Lead Time job, but the cum lead time field in the manufactured part doesn’t update.                  

Is it possible to put multiple parameters in for a lobby element like this?
