Why do I get "Numeric or value error: character string buffer too small" error in the application?

When entering text fields (like Part numbers) using the numeric keypad, the dot is shown as a comma. The regional and keyboard settings in Windows are set to keyboard layout en-US, which in every other application results in a dot.  Changing regional settings or numeric format in the IFS options gives no result.  Is there a way to influence the behavior of this? 

Hi all,   At one of our customers we have a "sizing" / "scaling" issue when printing (.zpl) Labels on Zebra printers. In the Label Designer or a ZPL Viewer, the Label Size seems to be correct. However when we print the actual labels, the information which is printed on the Labels is much smaller. Please look at the attached pictures. Although the picture is not perfect, the information on the actual printed label in real life is nearly not readable ( to small). And as you can see, the information printed is aligned to the upper left corner. While in the designer /or ZPL viewer, the information is nicely centered over the entire label.   Does anyone of you have an idea what can be the cause of this? Can this be a printer setting, or something in the layout design? (Of course the actual label size is also 8 x 4 cm, as the label was designed. So we are not using the wrong label size.)   Thanks and best regards!

Hi @dsj For one of our integration requirements we are using Mutual Authentication from IFS cloud to another third party application for that using openssl we generated the .csr and provided to the signing authority and got the .cer file and we generated the .pfx file using .cer and .key file and uploaded into IFS cloud.we created the routing address in that we provided the ssl:KeyStoreId as well.Here is the attachment how we did it. below is the error message we are getting could place have look and suggest where we are wrong. The version i am using here 23R1 SU3 Error :ExecutionException from Sender thread Caused by: ifs.fnd.connect.senders.ConnectSender$TemporaryFailureException: Exception while sending data Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Remote host terminated the handshake Caused by: java.io.EOFException: SSL peer shut down incorrectly  

“Failure of Web Server BridgeNo backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF or method not idempotent.” Has anyone encountered this message?  The environment comes up and stays up for a brief amount of time (anything from 5 mins to 45 mins) before it fails with the error above when trying to connect.Nothing obvious in server monitoring tools.  This is a test environment which isn’t heavily stressed. RegardsChris

Does anyone know how to make a parameter mandatory? By default they are all optional. Also, is there a way to set a default value for a parameter? Lastly, is there IFS documentation or a manual on details like this? I’ve seen IFS pages that have general  info, but nothing on technical details like the above or what else is doable/possible. As we start to develop our company’s custom reports I’m getting ideas and would like to know the capabilities and what’s possible with QuickReports.

It happens almost every Tuesday.What is the reason for the errors? What can be done to eliminate or mitigate such errors? Do we need an ORACLE patch or change in parameter settings? Is solution id 247656 (and/or others) the answer to this? Our customer is hosted on ITAR cloud.During this slowdown the GL Update suffers greatly and does not finish. And when the customer reboots, the GL update finishes within a reasonable amount of time. I have a routing address setup to make a call to another system using REST in an IFS cloud managed environment.  It works most of the time, but after multiple successful calls to the end point I start getting an error:  Exception while sending data Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Connection reset Caused by: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset. Does IFS utilize a security appliance in the cloud hosted environments that sends a RST packet to the Connect server automatically after a certain volume of transactions are processed?   I have Connect configured to retry 60 times after 1 minute.  This results in the message going from a waiting status to released after about a minute and then Connect picks it up and resends within a minute from there.  As such a new RESTful connection for the same API call, but it continues to receive this error from anywhere from 10 minutes to multiple hours.  If it is able to successfully make the connection which it does about 40% of the time, i

According to the deprecation log here:  Crystal Reports integration is planned to be removed entirely from IFS Cloud with the 25R1 release.Can we get a comment on whether this is just a plan, or if it is definitely going to happen.We have a number of customers who have a large number of Crystal Reports, used for both Quick and Operational Reports.  If this is going to be removed they face a huge amount of rework based on this.  It is going to put Customers off upgrading to Cloud for sure.What are IFS suggesting is used to replace these Crystal reports that businesses have come to rely on over the years they have been IFS Customers?
