Question

No longer possible to open more than five Windows simultaneously in cloud 25R1SU3?

It is no longer possible to open more than five IFS windows simultaneously. When we open a sixth window, it appears empty without any data. If we close one of the previously opened IFS windows, data then appears in the newly opened one.

can we know is this limitation or is there any place to change this value ?

Hi @12gKasunM

I couldn’t find the ticket offhand, but if I remember correct this was a defect in 25R1SU3.

It was fixed in a subsequent Service Update, hence it’s not a permanent issue but requires SU4 or SU5, (can’t remember which, sorry for being vague).

As a user with sometimes a dozen or more tabs open simultaneously myself, this was quite an annoyance.

Br,

Mikko

I can at least confirm that in 25R1 SU4 the problem still exists.

Hi,
We were able to fix this issue for a customer with 25R1 SU3 (upgrading from 24R1, where this was not occurring), by following the steps in following KBA:

https://support.ifs.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0090325

Basically, issue was fixed by enabling HTTP/2 and TLS 1.3 in Application Gateway

Hope this helps!

Pilar

Sorry, @N.GEORGI, I have requested this article to be visible for everyone. But I will copy in here the details of referred article:

Issue

When a user attempts to open more than five tabs within a single environment, the page fails to load.

The functionality works as expected when the environment URL is opened in up to five browser tabs. However, upon opening a sixth tab, the functionality stops working across all open tabs. Once any one of the tabs is closed, the functionality resumes working in the remaining tabs. This behavior is consistently reproducible across all user accounts and has been tested on multiple browsers.

We analyzed the logs but did not find any relevant errors. We have also review on proxy logs, It appears that when requests remain in a pending state, no entries are logged in the proxy. However, as soon as any one of the tabs is closed, the pending requests start processing, and we can then see HTTP 200 response codes and corresponding proxy log hits.

We also noticed that the HTTP protocol differs between environments. In 25R1 customer environments, the system is using HTTP/1.1 (cloud-hosted), while core environments are using HTTP/2(H2). It is unclear if this difference is contributing to the issue, as HTTP/1.1 has certain limitations on concurrent connections.

Environment

IFS Cloud 25R1

Cause

The problem is occurring due to the use of an older version of the HTTP (1.1) protocol.

Resolution

The R&D has recommended coordinating with the IFS Cloud team to verify the current HTTP version in use and update it to the latest version, which should resolve the connection issues.

The issue has been resolved after Http2 is enabled.

Regards,
Pilar

Hi @12gKasunM, please check the protocol version and upgrade it accordingly if it is 1.1

Thank you!

Hi,

We are in the process of upgrading to 25R1 SU4 and found the issue with the max on number of open browser windows in Edge & Chrome. As these are non-production databases, I created a case based on solution given by Pilar Franco. This solved for one database the issue. The other 2 still do not permit to open more than 5 browser windows in Edge and Chrome.

Kind regards,

Arjen
