Does the IFS client (we are Apps 9) use the JAVA runtime (JRE) environment?  If so are we required to license it?  This question has come up with the announcement of the JRE licensing requirements that were announced earlier this year.

The Autovue plug-in for Docvue component uses the JRE, if you use this optional component.

The feature that uses this in IFS is called “Instant View” and the sales part is called “Document Visualization”.

Hi, Welcome to the IFS community. The IFS EE client is built on and uses the .net framework.

Hence you don’t need to have the JAVA runtime to run it.

However, there are other application components which use the JRE.( Eg : the IFS print agent is a java program which uses JRE.)
