Hi

Is there any way in work task in service request management where technician can fill a checklist before he starts work that can be authorized by his manager? What is this sign off requirement?

Hi @anushakh ,
Sign off requirements must be entered before releasing the work task and it is performed once the work assignment is completed. Please refer below information on sign off process.

Perform Inspector Sign Off

Explanation

This activity is used to sign off work tasks or subtasks (from Fleet and Asset Management) having Inspector sign off requirements. When this activity is performed, and certificate requirements are defined, the system will check whether the current user fulfills all the certificate requirements for inspector sign off type, after which the work task or subtask will be signed off. Only one user is allowed to sign off as inspector. User certificates are defined in the Employee File and requires the component IFS/Human Resources to be installed.

When an inspector sign off is performed, and there are no more sign offs to be performed on the work task, the status of the work task will be changed automatically to Reported.

Prerequisites

  • The work task or subtask must exist in the Work Done status.
  • Inspector sign off requirements must have been defined on the work task or subtask.
  • If more than one sign off requirement line is defined for a sign off type (executor, inspector or independent), the person signing off must have all certificates required for the certain sign off type.
  • The Executor sign off must have been performed.

Perform Independent Sign Off

Explanation

This activity is used to sign off work tasks or subtasks (from Fleet and Asset Management) having Independent sign off requirements. When this activity is performed, and certificate requirements are defined, the system will check whether the current user fulfills all the certificate requirements for Independent sign off type, after which the work task or subtask will be signed off. Only one user is allowed to sign off as Independent. User certificates are defined in the Employee File and requires the component IFS/Human Resources to be installed.

When an Independent sign off is performed, and there are no more sign offs to be performed on the work task, the status of the work task will be changed automatically to Reported.

Prerequisites

  • The work task or subtask must exist in the Work Done status.
  • Independent sign off requirements must have been defined on the work task or subtask.
  • If more than one sign off requirement line is defined for a sign off type (executor, inspector or independent), the person signing off must have all certificates required for the certain sign off type.
  • If there is a requirement for inspector sign off, this must have been performed prior to independent sign off.

As you can see above, this functionality is used when concluding work tasks.

If you want to have a check list in work task/execute work task window you can customize the window adding check boxes with labels so that technicians can check it as required. Another way I can suggest is to have isolation order and permits connected to the work order so that work permit can be issued only if instructions in isolation order are completed.
Only above comes to my mind but there can be some other ways as well.
😄

Thanks & Best Regards,

Nethmini

What sort of authorization process are you looking for? Can you describe the process and scenario in some more detail?

In addition to sign-off requirements, you can setup Maintenance Surveys that trigger on status changes (e.g. accept, work start etc.) where the technician will have to enter info before proceeding, but there’s no authorization process tided to it as it’s more of a data collection process.
