Deprecation of the FTP and Shared repository types in Docman in 23R2 - a heads-up This post is only relevant for Remote customer installations. For managed cloud customers, FTP and Shared document repositories are NOT supported. This is a heads-up on IFS deprecating support for the FTP and Shared repository types in Docman in IFS Cloud 23R2, for complete removal in 24R1.If you have customers using these two repository types today, you should plan for migrating to Database or File Storage.If you are planning to implement this in Remote Deployment in IFS Cloud right now, you should reconsider, and use File Storage or Database.In Remote deployment, File Storage will still have support for local/external storage (outside the database) by supporting SMB/network shares. BACKGROUND Back in the day, Docman started out with support for "external" file storage via our support for FTP and Shared (folders) as the only repository types. Later, Database storage was added upon request from customers.

Hello,On IFS Cloud - We can retrieve documents stored on FTP path (Stored in pervious versions of IFS). But are not able to add any new document. there is no error while uploading. Hello, I have problem with retrieving SQL command in IFS cloud. In Oracle db this SQL command in picture2 is working but in IFS in some cases is working but in some not. I want to put together values in columns “Superior Part No” and “Popis polo” in column “Nazov”. Where is no Superior No, there would be only “Popis polo” after that should be in column “Nazov” “32 PBA ELA” after that in pic3 is working, but when is in “Superior Part No” value 322 than there is in “Nazov” column 309 and not 322.  Thank you for your advices

After we upgraded to IFS10 we are struggling with slowness in our Oracle DB. We haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause of our problems. But very often (5-10 times each week), we see that the CPU goes to 100% and doesn’t let go. Every user in our company are then struggling with slowness when this happens. As an example, saving a time registration can take 3-4 minutes.Today, a restart of the DB server was necessary to get it back to  normal.  We have used the query below to find CPU consuming operations, and have also checked background jobs and DMBS jobs. I have been trying a few things with both project and document access. But I have come up against what I think is a conflict between project access and document access.  But here are my findings:I created a project under IFSAPP in a test environment. IFSAPP is identified as a document administrator I created another user that was not a document administrator (User 2) I did NOT add USER2 to the project access I created a couple of documents that were attached to an activity on the project as IFSAPP USER2 was NOT able to access the project at all I added USER 2 to the project access with full rights I logged in as USER2 and accessed the project successfully I could see the documents I had attached earlier BUT although I had granted the team to which USER2 belonged full access, USER2 could see that the documents existed BUT could not access them I tried as USER2 to create a document attached to the activity.  USER2 could not create a document in a document class for which the user was NOT

Hi all, Is it possible force the users to choose the application when editing a document. The equivalent to windows “open with”?

As of now in the Document Folder navigator, we don't have the direct visibility of the documents within the folders.As a part of the new development, it is intended to bring the standard capabilities into the document folder navigator, so that the user will be able to:Visualize documents within the folders directly within a document folder node. Visualize the document details in the Document Folder Navigator page. Drag and drop documents between document folder nodes in a structure.We now have the 3 options in the poll below to display the Document details in the Document Folder Navigator page. Would like to know the preference. 

Hello,I, and I’m sure I’m not alone, have the requirement to have a document connected to a Misc Demand or Misc No Part Demand be carried over to the supply which would be a purchase requisition line.  IFS does not have a “standard” transformation for this.  Has anyone defined a custom field that would carry from the demand to the requisition so that a normal transformation could be done?  (Extend the target view??).  Or, have written the SQL that could be used as a transformation method?Thank youPatrick

Hello,Every time I open a jpg attachment in apps 10 IEE, I get the “How do you want to open this file?” prompt by Windows, and regardless of how many times I check the “always use this app to open .jpg files” checkbox, I always get this prompt when I open a jpg attachment. I know Windows is storing this app as the default program because Windows never prompts me with this when I open jpgs via other methods like email attachments, locally saved jpgs, network pictures, etc. It’s only occurring when I open a jpg via the IEE app. I can even navigate to the folder where IFS downloads the jpg file and open it successfully from there. I’ve tried resetting the Photos app in Windows and re-confirming the default app choices in app settings. I’ve spoken to other users of our apps 10 IEE setup and they don’t appear to have this same issue. Any thoughts on how to remedy this?Thanks,Evan Edwards

All,We are upgrading to IFS Cloud 23R2 (Remote) from Apps 10, where we have historically used FTP as a repository type. Since this is no longer supported, we are moving to File Share and use of a Windows share instead.We have manually moved the files from FTP to File Share.I am looking for guidance on what I need to do to change the "file pointer" in Docman as well as add some metadata used by File Storage please for all our existing documents?Does someone have a pre-existing script they would be willing to provide? Thanks in advanceShaun

Hello, everyone!Anyone familiar with IFS Cloud 21R2's Send Document File By Email feature in Document Revision window? I have installed the Aurena Agent and when I am trying to send the document, it neither opens the email nor gives any errors.I hope somebody can give us a word of advise on this matter.Your help is much appreciated.Thanks

In Apps 10 we had a full text search in Docman which was initially served by the Search Domains functions. I can't find such a search in Cloud 21R1 anymore. Does this mean for Cloud 21R1 that there is no full text search anymore? What are the alternatives?GreetingsOliver

21r2, using Chrome and with Aurena Agent installed, I find that the “eye” preview icon on a document attachment opens a PDF in the browser, whereas if i go to the document and click “View” i get the standard docman download to local checkout path.What’s the reason for the difference?Is there a way to get the eye/in-browser preview elsewhere?Preview in browser:

Users receive an error when trying to Send via Email from Document Revision. Error: Got an error when trying to send the e-mail using Outlook. Hi, I am having an action which takes LongText as input, inturn I have used CLOB datatype to parse the longtext value in my procedure, but when I send the string via postman it gives error as “ODP_DESERIALIZATION_ERROR”.Is there a way to parse the longtext values or BLOB values.  Thanks in advance 

Is it possible to add documents to a shipment?I am attempting to link Customer Orders to their respective shipments, so I can have documents on the Customer Orders be available for printing when shipments print their delivery notes.I have looked into Object Connection Transformations, but the connections available do not seem to work properly. Creating document macros can be easy or hard. There is however one thing that is common to most of them: we need to get hold of the path and file name of the file that was downloaded due to the file operation the user executed, be it View Document, Edit Document, Print Document or other.Below I'm sharing a small utility macro block that you can use as a base when writing macros of your own, plus a simple and generic macro block that will open whatever file that was downloaded. I have a question. Is it possible to configure the repository of the "File storage" type in such a way that the files of attachments of different classes of documents are stored in different directories and not in one collective "Docman"?
