Data Migration

I am trying to migrate Customer_info where the Creation Date is today’s date.  The migration does not like the format:  1000001 ABAN ABRAHAM PTE LTD 11/16/2022 1000001 CUSTOMER United States of America en 1000041 SEADRILL OFFSHORE AS - EUROPE OPERATIONS

Is there a defined location where we can get the Project Template files for Data Migration Manager for the latest release?  The training says it is recommended to use them, but as Partners I cant see where we would get them from.There is a topic where someone has kindly shared the files for 22r1 But this is now out of date as 23r1 has been released.It would be preferred if these template files were made available in a known place for Partners so we can use them in our Customer Projects.In the meantime, can anyone share the 23r1 Project Template?Gareth

Hey everybody, I am facing a problem with Excel Add In in IFS Cloud. The search functionality has changed from Apps to Cloud. Eg “%” or “;” doesn´t work anymore (at least it seems). Is there any documentation about search possibilities that can be used? Is there a possibility to use SQL statements in the search bars? Thank you in advance, Johannes

Hi, We use 21R2 on IFS Cloud and try to use Excel Data Miogration.I downloaded Excel DataMigr Manifest from IFS but when I try to import it in Excel  I have a certificat error.Do you an idea about this ? Regards, Christophe

Hello IFS Community! I’m assessing a strategy for a legacy ERP migration into a PRODUCTION IFS APPS 10 (UPD16). This is a multi-tenant  instance (many companies are running on this IFS instance). There is already one company operational and I am migrating company #2.My question is this: we are considering two strategiesMigrate this new company (let’s call it, company “A”) into PRODUCTION where the current company (company “B”) is operational. Do the migration and QA work directly in PROD. Once the GO-NO GO decision is made (if GO) then just start using PROD with no further delays. In this approach there is no freeze period for company “B” Migrate this new company in a staging environment that we will clone off PRODUCTION (so all of company’s “B” data is there), freeze PROD during migration (tell users of company “B” site is off-limits for now). Hi all, We recently implemented IFS Apps 10 beginning of december for our first business unit. I was - together with a collegae - responsible for data migration. As a data warehouse builder I am wondering how we can access the data for other purposes, like reporting. On premise we have a SQL server BI stack. Is it possible for me to access data from the Information Sources? Or is this only possible from the Enterprise Explorer and/or the EOI? Kind regards, Jeroen  

I have the exact same Excel Migration Job over BUS_OBJ_REPRESENTATIVE in our DEV and TEST environments and they do not perform the same.   The migration job in DEV will perform a modification as expected and return the “Updated” result.The migration job in TEST will not perform the requested update and returns a result of “Business Object Representative already exists”.   of course it exits, I want to update the “Representative Type” associated with the record.We have check all permissions and have no idea what would be causing the difference in functionality.Any help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely,Vince

Is it possible to delete records from WORK_SCHED_ASSIGN using Data Migration and WORK_SCHED_ASSIGN_API.Remove__   Can anyone please advise how this is done.

Hi,I have issues with running an Excel Migration job updating valid to date on the current price line on supplier price list (purchase_quantity_price). I get the familiar error “Object does not exist”, but I have all key attributes present and the same job works in another IFSAPP10 database for the same customer. The job is set so that the only attribute to be updated is “VALID TO DATE”. Has anybody had issues with updating purchase_quantity_price?I can say that creating new records works fine. B.RPer

Hi together,we are currently in an Upgrade Project to 22R2 and we want to migrate Notes.We found the topic Job migration of Business Opportunity - Note issue | IFS Community but when we enter the method BUSINESS_OPPORTUNITY_API.Write_Note_ in the Method List of the Mig Job we get the following error. So we checked the API in PL/SQL Developer and saw that the datatype for rowid_ is ROWID. This seems wrong.Does anybody have the same issue? Do you know how to fix that error?

I have a Migration Job that uses the Excel Add-In and some of the custom fields are linked to views/tables, so I understand that the “_DB” value will be that of the OBJKEY/ROWKEY.  What I don’t understand is why I am receiving an integrity constraint error for NULL entries of the “_DB” columns.  one of my errors: “integrity constraint (IFSAPP.BUSINESS_OPPORTUNITY5_CRK) violated - parent key not found”how can one prevent this for NULL values for non-mandatory custom fields? Sincerely,Vince K.

Hi,when sending a HTTP Post request to IFS REST API I get an 400 error as respone.On the IFS Server I see this log message:2023/10/06 06:31:12 [warn] 96#96: *149147568 [lua] cookie.lua:146: bake(): SameSite value must be 'Strict', 'Lax' or 'None' while connecting to upstream, client: x.x.x.x, server: IFS, request: "POST /main/ifsapplications/projection/v1/LocationHandling.svc/LocationSet HTTP/1.1", host: "IFS"The Post request is initiated by our Lobster middleware, using postman everything is working fine. Is there a process to get the system populated with example, demo, or dummy data?We are new to IFS Cloud, and will be starting our implementation process with our partner soon. However, we would like to be able to see what a basic setup would look like.Our prior ERP system had an example database which had the minimal setup with some dummy transactions. This was helpful in exploring functionality not implemented and was helpful to the development process.

Excel in Windows10 environment User has gone to Add-ons menu and selected the following two: To create and update data in IFS Applications using Microsoft Excel you need to install the IFS Data Migration Excel Add-in. As a prerequisite you need to install Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime. Next Excel is opened. The new tab IFS Applications is visible. User uses the icon to connect to IFS: Nothing happens. No log in screen is presented. Anyone an idea what could be the issue for this?

Hello;        I’m new to IFS & I’m quite surprised at the difficulty there is in changing a unit of measure. I’m a designer, & a portion of my former company was acquired by another who uses IFS. In the process there was a lubricant that got transferred & the unit of measurement was a pail. I’m not sure what the correct unit is but that wasn’t the unit it was supposed to be. Instead of being able to correct the unit, my main division of the company is saying the only thing we can do is create a new part no. with the correct unit of measure. This lubricant is used all over the place in 103 boms & 93 drawings which would have to be changed. Is this a limitation with IFS, & if it is, why would it be. I believe with our former system using CMS, we would have just revised the unit, & been done with it. I should add, it has already been used which seems to make it more of an issue.Thanks for any input in advance. SonDrum

Hi, I have customer who is into an Upgrade project from IFS Apps 8 to IFS Cloud.How do we manage the Data Migration of the existing data into IFS Cloud?For Example: We migrate the Inventory Parts, Inventory Stock etc.How about the LotBatchMaster, LotBatch History or Part Serial History windows?Does this needs to be migrated as a part of the Upgrade project?
