HI there, Is there any way we can write back the key values to the Excel sheet once the record is inserted or updated in IFS. For Example: A Excel migration job is configured to create a new Work order with data from the excel. Can the newly created Work order number be returned back to excel sheet and displayed against the data line. Thanks in Advance. Siva Ganesh M
How to work with Excel Data Migration for the screens with multiple views(E.g. Master detail Tab Form Window)
When using the Excel Data Migration Add-in if any fields contain dates IFS brings them into Excel in the form DD/MM/YYYY HH:MI:SS. If you do nothing and try to Validate the row, the result column seems to insist that the field doesn’t contain anything (if mandatory). If you click in the field and then out again Excel re-presents the field as YY/MM/YYYY HH:MI and right aligns it. It then validates ok. Obviously if you have a lot of records you can’t click in every field to ensure the formatting corrects itself. Does anyone know how to solve this ?
Does anyone have any documentation on IFS Data Migration? Thanking you in advance for your assistance and time. John
Dear Community, I want to connect Excel with IFS - My question is, what address have I to put in the field of "Connect to"? I have tried it with a Link of the Citrix-Race: https://erldemoa10i2.corpnet.ifsworld.com:48080/I also tried with a Link of an customer: https://exdaswvc08167.asysdaas.de:48080/ But after I press on OK an error message open with the notice: “The remote name could not be resolved.” Do you know what Kind of mistake this is? Thanks in Advance for your help! Kind regards, Nadim
I have created a custom logical unit / custom page to add to the Supplier screen as a custom tab. Is there an easy way to use the data migration tool (DMT) to populate the underlying custom table? I’ve seen instructions on setting up the DMT to handle custom fields on a standard IFS screen, but this situation is a little different, in my mind, because it isn’t and extension of a standard method.
We are a company at the start of our IFS implementation journey. Looking for templates for data migration of data across many different modules from our many different legacy systems. I’m aware of the Data Migration Tool to perform the migration, but looking for the templates, along with field help for the users populating the Excel sheet. Does IFS offer something like this?
Settings: IFS9. Excel in Windows10 environment User has gone to Add-ons menu and selected the following two: To create and update data in IFS Applications using Microsoft Excel you need to install the IFS Data Migration Excel Add-in. As a prerequisite you need to install Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime. Next Excel is opened. The new tab IFS Applications is visible. User uses the icon to connect to IFS: Nothing happens. No log in screen is presented. Anyone an idea what could be the issue for this?
Hi - I can create 2 data migration jobs to create a Purchase Order. - One to create the header and one to create the lines. I am looking to create a single Migrate Source Data DM Job to create header and lines based on an imported table of data. So the stage 1 imported Data would be simplified as something like.. Supplier Part No Qty Stage 2 to Create a PO for the distinct list of Suppliers and then create the attached lines Anyone think this is possible without custom code? Thanks for looking..
Hi all, We recently implemented IFS Apps 10 beginning of december for our first business unit. I was - together with a collegae - responsible for data migration. As a data warehouse builder I am wondering how we can access the data for other purposes, like reporting. On premise we have a SQL server BI stack. Is it possible for me to access data from the Information Sources? Or is this only possible from the Enterprise Explorer and/or the EOI? Kind regards, Jeroen
We are in the process of implementing IFS10 having previously used IFS2003. Our inventory is customer owned. We want to use data migration to load our WIP (inventory parts in stock) into IFS10 but have come across the restriction that customer owned inventory cannot be received via NREC. So we’re looking at using Purchase Orders but with many tens of thousands of individual serial numbers this seems a big overhead. Is there a recommended way of bulk receiving customer owned inventory?
I’ve got my source migration job working, but I’m trying to log errors that just show up as unprocessed records. In this case it’s a bad Operation No/ID and you can see in the debugger it can’t find the Objid/Objversion for the routing operation I’m trying to update. Is there a way to flag these rows so the end users can go back and resolve the issue with the source data? Thanks, Lane
At the end of the year we update our labor times on the routings from spreadsheets that are based on actual clockings during the prior year. I was trying to setup migration jobs to handle the entry back into IFS and I’m hitting a road block on it. Probably missing something trivial. The input file has the site, part number, operation no and the new labor run time. I need to use functions to find the latest revision and to convert the operation no to operation id. From what I’m seeing in the debugger it looks like it isn’t saving the function call results. Below is the setup for the Source Migration job.
