Data Migration

I’m new to IFS and currently exploring the Excel Plugin in V8 and the Excel Add-in in IFS Cloud.I successfully created an Excel migration job for the COUNTING_REPORT view (Count Report Transaction), exported the data, made necessary changes, validated and executed the job using the Excel Add-in. The changes were reflected in IFS as expected.However, when I followed the same process for the COUNTING_REPORT_LINE_EXTENDED view (Count Per Count Report Transaction), the changes did not reflect in IFS after execution.Could you please advise if there are any specific steps or configurations required for the physical inventory process when using the Excel Add-in with this view? Is there a limitation or approval workflow that I should be aware of?Thank you for your support.Best regards,Gowtham

Hi All,  We are looking to get some basic data setup (Even if it’s just dummy data) in build placeWhen the environment  expires we lose a lot of time setting the basic data up for testing. Does anyone have experience with setting it up so when we build a new environment it already has data. We believe this is possible but we are struggling to get the process set off. ThanksCameron

Hello, I am wondering if I am able to export current information source in business reporter and import to QIS for a duplicate source with additional information. I tried the export of original information source as .ins and .xml. When I import however to QIS it does not read the .ins and errors the .xml file.

Hi,We are in middle of upgrading from IFS 9 to Cloud and uplifting all our Migration Jobs. In Cloud, we noticed that the Excel Migration jobs using standard IFS API Methods create a new projection once we update the job and click ‘Re-generate Excel Migration’ option. Granting the projection to the relevant Permission Set allows user to execute the job successfully in Excel.However, the same doesn't happen when we modify Excel Migration Jobs using Custom API Methods as no new Projection appears after clicking Re-generate Excel Migration.When the user tries to run the migration, the attached error occurs:We confirmed the same error for two other Custom API based Excel Mig Jobs.Product Version: 23.1.11

I’m not sure what’s going on but I have the projections for my migration job granted to the permission set that I need them granted to as well as permission for FND_ADMIN, and FNDMIG_EXCEL_ADDIN and I’m still getting this error in my production environment. I have less permissions granted in my test environment and it’s loading with no issue. I even imported the permission sets from my test environment to prod and it’s still giving me the error. Any help is appreciated.    

Hi Team, We are doing migration using the Ventechi script. We have a question about this: What is the processing time for this? It's been a day, and it is still running. The following print-screen show the state of one of my Output Containers, as you can see:It refers to IDENTITY_PAY_INFO It’s key (COMPANY, IDENTITY, PARTY_TYPE_DB) is: TESTCO, ABC0001 and CUSTOMER (respectively) Is in Approved stateIn addition to that, IDENTITY_PAY_INFO is referred by another table PAYMENT_WAY_PER_IDENTITY. On that table, It is expected that the field PARTY_TYPE_DB should exist in IDENTITY_PAY_INFO, as you can see in this Target Table Definition.With this information in mind… then why this row in PAYMENT_WAY_PER_IDENTITY failing if the corresponding record already exist in  IDENTITY_PAY_INFO when I validate basic data?

I am trying to import supplier records into my IFS8 system using xml files generated by an external system. The xml files are supposed to be using utf-8 encoding. However, because some of the records are generated from Korean and Ukrainian sources, not all the characters are utf-8 despite the xml referencing <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>. As a result, when the connector reader gets the xml file, it reports:com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.io.MalformedByteSequenceException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.And the file is not processed any further.Sometimes the control characters will clobber the xml tags, which nullifies the entire file structure.Aside from forcing the sender to reformat the data, is there anything I can do in IFS to compensate for the bad characters when the connector reader tries to pick it up?Here is an example of one of the bad xml files opened in notepad++. 

Hi All, I’m trying to do same data analyses about direct/indirect hours, therefore i tried accessing data which is shown in screen “Time Registration”. View TIMMAN_JOB_TRANS.I did this by the use of PL/SQL dev. I had not all te results i expected, so i viewed the time registration for another employee in IFS. After i had checked that in IFS, that employee also showed up as result in PL/SQL. So, it seems like the data is stored in the view afther i;'ve viewed it in IFS. Does anyone have an idea how to be able to see the data without opening the time registration screen for every employee one by one in IFS?Or any suggestions for another view is also welcome 😃this is the SQL query: select COMPANY_PERSON_API.Get_Internal_Display_Name(Company_id,EMP_NO),ifsapp.TIMMAN_JOB_TRANS_status.*from TIMMAN_JOB_TRANS_STATUSwhere company_id='***'and account_date= DATE'2024-01-29'and (HOURS_DAY1 >0)

Hi Community,We are currently facing a challenge with our Build environment, which gets reset or vanishes after a certain time frame. As a result, we have to manually reconfigure key master data such as Company, Site, Supplier, and Customer each time.This manual setup is quite time-consuming and repetitive. We do have another environment with the required data already in place, and we are exploring possibilities to move or copy that data into the Build environment.Could you please advise if there is an easier or recommended method to achieve this data transfer efficiently?IFS Version- Cloud 24R1Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi, we have recently implemented IFS Cloud 24R2. In other words, we are quite new to IFS.It is important for us to be able to easily create Manual Vouchers in GL from an Excel template. External Vouchers and CSV files are not enough. We need to see any errors directly in the Excel document.Has anyone managed to use Excel Migration Job for this?

Hello everyone, I have do difficulties wih invoice migration in IFS, I have question about the VAT lines. Question about the migration of customer or supplier invoices with VAT already declared Is it necessary to use an extra-accounting migration account? Use a specific account? Example for a customer invoice of 1000€ excluding VAT and 200€ VAT declared For the product part, it's clear to me that you need to use a migration account that must be balanced with an analytical p&l.The third-party account will balance the balance account.What should I do with the tax line? My current scheme is as follows: Debit 411 - €1200 Credit 9701 - €1000VAT?                         200€ on which account in general? For invoices with undeclared VAT, should I use the same tax codes as the customer currently uses?  Or Use an external voucher for VAT lines?  

Hi all, I received the below question from one of our APPS8 customers. They want to migrate closed PO's from their old ERP system into APPS8 (Customer recently aqcuisitioned new business).. My idea was to migrate the PO's with No Parts instead of Part lines, but I'd like to double check with the community!-------------------------------The question is if there is a way to migrate closed POs and what is the impact to postings. We will only go for a migration of No Part POs. If we are migrating POs with the status closed is there a posting connected to the status? Is this on kicking of the system functionality of posting a GRNI? If there is no posting linked to the status in the data migration, how is the matching of the invoice to the PO working? Hi, We’re currently about to go live and we have a number of open orders that have been configured from on legacy system which needs to be migrated over to IFS. We have created migration jobs for customer order header & customer order lines.We’re yet to create a migration job for the configuration as we’re not sure if it’s possible to migrate configuration ID’s with configuration spec values into IFS or if this has to be manually.Has anyone come across this before and how did they get around it?  

Is it possible to import data into Excel using Excell addin by the Search function - only rows with empty ( NULL) field ? In IFS (cloud version) we can show rows with empty fields only using filter “!<>”  Is it a similar solution for import rows into Excel ?

In IFS Apps10 update 9 a migration job is working in update the same job doesn’t work anymore.No error message and result info mentions executed succesfully.The migration job is a job using an api procedure.the used procedure is PICK_CUSTOMER_ORDER_API.Report_Reserved_As_Picked__ Any idea?
