Data Migration

Import fixed asset is not working properly.  Below is the test plan:Create an FA object with valid from date 8/30/2016, assigned to an object group with SL BP for 7y0m. Import the object with acc. Depreciation value for year 2022, period 12. Post the import transactions. Create a new depreciation proposal for the object above for year 2023, period 1, review the proposal, you will notice the depreciation will fully depreciate the object with the remaining residual value.  That is incorrect.  The object should still have another 8 months to depreciate. If you would like to review our data, object id TEST2 is done via external template, object id TEST3 is created in the system, both with the same issue.  The testing data is on my UAT database (URL: IFS Cloud). We are currently on IFS Apps 8 but not using the fixed assets module.  

Hi,  Currently I’m having the need of updating data daily to inventory_part_planning view. And I was recommended to use INSERT_OR_UPDATE procedure for this. How can I selectively update just for some fields, e.g safety stock, order point? Much appreciated if someone has a user guideline for this type of procedure.   

Hello;        I’m new to IFS & I’m quite surprised at the difficulty there is in changing a unit of measure. I’m a designer, & a portion of my former company was acquired by another who uses IFS. In the process there was a lubricant that got transferred & the unit of measurement was a pail. I’m not sure what the correct unit is but that wasn’t the unit it was supposed to be. Instead of being able to correct the unit, my main division of the company is saying the only thing we can do is create a new part no. with the correct unit of measure. This lubricant is used all over the place in 103 boms & 93 drawings which would have to be changed. Is this a limitation with IFS, & if it is, why would it be. I believe with our former system using CMS, we would have just revised the unit, & been done with it. I should add, it has already been used which seems to make it more of an issue.Thanks for any input in advance. SonDrum

At the end of the year we update our labor times on the routings from spreadsheets that are based on actual clockings during the prior year. I was trying to setup migration jobs to handle the entry back into IFS and I’m hitting  a road block on it. Probably missing something trivial. The input file has the site, part number, operation no and the new labor run time. I need to use functions to find the latest revision and to convert the operation no to operation id. From what I’m seeing in the debugger it looks like it isn’t saving the function call results. Hello, while creating a new migration job with custom fields, I have this error come up:ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("IFSAPP"."PART_CATALOG_CFT"."ROWKEY")I am seeing if anyone can help me troubleshoot. I cannot see any reference to “PART_CATALOG_CFT”… 

When using the Excel Data Migration Add-in if any fields contain dates IFS brings them into Excel in the form DD/MM/YYYY HH:MI:SS. If you do nothing and try to Validate the row, the result column seems to insist that the field doesn’t contain anything (if mandatory).  If you click in the field and then out again Excel re-presents the field as YY/MM/YYYY HH:MI and right aligns it.  It then validates ok. Obviously if you have a lot of records you can’t click in every field to ensure the formatting corrects itself. Does anyone know how to solve this ?

I would like to migrate the field “Tax Liability” with already existents customers. I use IFSAPP account with IFS_ALL rights (and Excel ADD In). Il create a migration Job (I tried with Two jobs migration, insert or update, or Excel Add-in and i have the same result)I start the job and load the file.But when I want to start online, an error message occurs : “Access denied! User IFSAPP is not connected to Company”However, IFSAPP as a user is connected to all sites and companies. The update is allowed in the basic data migration setup. IFSAPP is a user per all the companies.Don’t know why the access is denied...    

Hi All -- hoping for some help with a migration job issue I’ve been struggling with. I need another pair of eyes to see what I’m overlooking.I’ve got a job containing two separate views, plus the custom field view for one. Validating my job results in “Validate OK”, however upon execution I receive “The Sales Part Base Price already exists.”  I’m trying to update the custom field (CF$_ACCEPTABLE_USE_CODE_DB) or any field in the line, and not create a new one. Attaching screenshots of everything I can think of… I’m also a rookie when it comes to data migration.  

Hi,We have a requirement to create Functional Objects via Migration Job.  The job should also insert Belongs to Object and Contract.In Cloud, while creating Migration Job (tried with Excel and Migrate Source Data) on EQUIPMENT_FUNCTIONAL, the columns SUP_MCH_CODE (Belongs to Object) and SUP_CONTRACT (Belongs to Site) not at all visible in Column mapping.We tried using modify Method to update these columns, but still it is not updating and Migration Job ending with an error as belowAPI Methods used: EQUIPMENT_OBJECT_PARTY_API.Modify__ Also used this method, EQUIPMENT_FUNCTIONAL_API.MODIFY__ , but in both cases it ended with same errorError:ORA-06550: line 1, column 43:PLS-00225: subprogram or cursor 'MODIFY__' reference is out of scopeAny thoughts or idea really helpful on thisThanks,Nishith

HI there,   Is there any way we can write back the key values to the Excel sheet once the record is inserted or updated in IFS. For Example: A Excel migration job is configured to create a new Work order with data from the excel. Can the newly created Work order number be returned back to excel sheet and displayed against the data line.   Thanks in Advance.   Siva Ganesh M

We are using the North American Migration toolkit for a data migration and some missing basic data get loaded automatically.  (For example Organization codes). We need to get the list of these records and does anyone know about a view or report which can be used to fetch this information ?(** Note that “Data Migration Applications\Reporting\Auto-loaded Basic Data\Auto-Loaded Detail” does not show anything and I’m not sure whether this is bug**)  

Is there a defined location where we can get the Project Template files for Data Migration Manager for the latest release?  The training says it is recommended to use them, but as Partners I cant see where we would get them from.There is a topic where someone has kindly shared the files for 22r1 But this is now out of date as 23r1 has been released.It would be preferred if these template files were made available in a known place for Partners so we can use them in our Customer Projects.In the meantime, can anyone share the 23r1 Project Template?Gareth

I'd like to wish you all a very happy new year. I'm creating migration jobs for customer orders where I'd like them to retrieve as much information as possible automatically. At the moment, I only have 3 mandatory pieces of information to enter.   I'd like the order number to be entered automatically, based on the last existing order number. Is this possible? Where do I enter it? For the example, my last order number is "S23000005957".I'd like the order number to be automatically set to "S23000005958" when I run my job, and for the countdown to take place naturally. If I manually recreate an order, my number should be "S23000005959".

Dear Community, @Jens (you're a DMM guru I've been told ;))When using in Cloud 22R1 the Data Migration Manager, deploying the object Suppliers [SUPPLIER_GENERAL_INFO], we face an error when the output container is deployed, during the deployment: "Field [ON_NEW] is mandatory for Deploy Definition Attributes and requires a value.”In the target table definition this field ON_NEW is not available. Has anyone seen this error before and has a solution to fix it? At the moment we can't deploy the data to the target environment.  

I have created a custom logical unit / custom page to add to the Supplier screen as a custom tab.  Is there an easy way to use the data migration tool (DMT) to populate the underlying custom table?  I’ve seen instructions on setting up the DMT to handle custom fields on a standard IFS screen, but this situation is a little different, in my mind, because it isn’t and extension of a standard method.

We are in the process of implementing IFS10 having previously used IFS2003. Our inventory is customer owned. We want to use data migration to load our WIP (inventory parts in stock) into IFS10 but have come across the restriction that customer owned inventory cannot be received via NREC. So we’re looking at using Purchase Orders but with many tens of thousands of individual serial numbers this seems a big overhead. Is there a recommended way of bulk receiving customer owned inventory?

We are in need of migrating employee clocking information from a client’s system to IFS. I’m trying to set up migration jobs to get the data into TIMREP_TRANSACTION. However I seem to have an issue getting the time stamp info due to the data format. In the view and the DB table, Time stamp (REG_STAMP) is of DATE type. To have the date and time in that format I had to use custom option in format cells in Excel. When I do that, I have to have the corresponding field in the migration job to get the data into the intermediate table as VARCHAR2. I tried DATE format but then the data cannot be loaded due to a format error.But then I get the following error, when I try the second migration job I’ve set up to get the data from the intermediate table to the actual database table.The source data migration job has the field as DATE type.  Clearly I need some sort of data conversion in between. But I’m struggling as I cannot figure out how to do it. I would really appreciate it if anyone has some
