Have a customer that has over 80+ companies and wants to use Position based authorization in their purchase authorization templates.   The authorization would be multi company (Ie 1 CFO over all 80 companies.  Therefore, the standard Position Structure and Organization Structure does not fully suffice, so we thought about using Supervisor Access to grant the CFO person access to each company with the proper Position ID in each.

So, question for the audience, do you know if the Purchase Authorization looks at the Supervisor Access as well or only the Company Structure set up?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Hi Kevin,

I found the below explanation in our help documentation and hope this will help you.

Position authorizer - You can assign employees (linked to persons that are authorizers) to a position in the company. When this position is used in an authorization routing template, just one person assigned to this position in the company has to authorize the purchase requisition or purchase order. Examples of positions in a company are purchasing manager and CEO.In the instance where same position exists in multiple organization codes within Graphical Organization Structure, column Org Code could be used to filter out a particular position within the company belonging to a specific Org Code.

You can find more information by following the URL: http://docweb.corpnet.ifsworld.com/ifsdoc/Apps10/documentation/en/default.htm?openpage=http://docweb.corpnet.ifsworld.com/ifsdoc/Apps10/documentation/en/Purch/frmPurAuthorizationBasic.htm

Hi @Marcelle NG  and @Rasika Lakmal :

The link is indeed broken, but I tested as well as the customer and we verified that Matrix Organizations will not work as there is no Structure ID in the columns to choose from.

A caveat to this is that we both tested in an upgrade and RACE environment.  I still don’t think it will work, but I suppose it should be tested and validated by someone in a fresh installation where there is only a Matrix organization set up.  That may work, but again my instinct is telling me that it won’t.

Thank you for checking and inquiring.

Is this the link you guys are referring to?

It would be interesting to learn if @Kevin Curtis or anyone might have a new finding since the last post. :)

I was also looking for a functionality that enables us to use multi company purchase authorization rule / authorizer and only found out today that the feature only exists from 21R2 ‘Multi-Company Purchase Authorizers’ window.

I am just curious to know if a feature such as that from 21R2 can be downported as a fix into IFS App10 we are using?
